Here we have a machine that shows off
Multicyl's Pragmatic Design Philosophy
. Using standard Multicyl components along with Multicyl MLR technology and PIB press packages we designed a custom machine that brings several advantages to the sheet metal punching process that is critical to the customer's business.
The customer has a family of similar sheet metal parts that need each corner and one side punched; the parts have various sizes and the corners of the parts have different notch configurations. By removing this process from a traditional press the customer gained three main advantages:
- The need to punch the parts twice was eliminated.
- The need for different tooling set ups for each side of the part was eliminated.
- Set up time for different parts was greatly reduced.
All of this was accomplished with standard Multicyl components and some Pragmatic Design.
