SAFETY TIP: When outdoors, always watch out for overhead power lines. Stay at least 10 feet away to avoid hazards while flying kites, trimming trees, or doing roof work. Remember, even non-metallic objects like ladders and metallic ones like Mylar balloons can conduct electricity, risking electrocution. Treat all power lines as live and dangerous. Report any damage or low-hanging lines immediately and keep yourself and others safe. Your safety is our priority.

Your Smart Meter Installation Journey

Smart Meters are rolling out and here are some important information for you to know. You don't need to be present, El Paso Electric (EPE) is coordinating directly with Texas Meter & Device (TMD) installers to upgrade your meter. Just ensure there's ample clearance around your meter. Installers will announce themselves with EPE and TMD logos on their badges, and they won't ask for payments or personal information. If you're not home, they'll attempt the exchange and leave a door hanger. For more details on the install process, check out the video.
