SUNSHINE SPOTLIGHT
Shining a Light on Brian McGann, Leading West Coast Operations
Area Manager for Manatee County Brian McGann joined Sunshine in July 2019 after spending several decades as a district manager for 7-11 and Pizza Hut as well as owning two Italian restaurants. His strong background as a manager, entrepreneur and multi-tasker prepared him well for his responsibilities at Sunshine.

Brian oversees more than 70 different accounts for Manatee County and is rapidly growing electrostatic services for condo developments. The native Long Islander and avid Mets fan was a strong fit from day one with the Sunshine family and is looking forward to supporting the continuing growth in the Sarasota and Bradenton communities.

“When I drove over to meet Mike, Randy and Laura at the Sunshine headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, there was an immediate connection,” he recalled. “My background has served me well in this position and enabled Sunshine to remain strong here throughout the pandemic.”

Brian moved with his family to Florida in 1992. He and his wife, Susan, have been married for 36 years and have four children, ranging in age from 23 to 33. They live in Sarasota County.

Brian is pictured below with one of our Moose Award Recipients.

Sunshine Founder Larry Calufetti was larger than life in both personality and stature, earning him the childhood nickname “Moose” that stayed with him his whole life. That name lives on as a special recognition for those Sunshine employees who like our founder, embrace their roles as team players, display outstanding behavior and exemplify the Sunshine values to be trustworthy, respectful, innovative and safe.

Congratulations to Saint Pierre Jean and Catalina Parasole, who work as custodians in Manatee County.

CLEANING TIP
Protect Yourself Against COVID-19
As we continue to protect ourselves against COVID-19, remember these tips offered by the CDC:

“The best way to protect yourself from germs when running errands and after going out is to regularly wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Wear reusable or disposable gloves for routine cleaning and disinfection. Clean surfaces using soap and water, then use disinfectant.
  • Cleaning with soap and water reduces number of germs, dirt and impurities on the surface. Disinfecting kills germs on surfaces.
  • Practice routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces. High touch surfaces include:
  • Tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, sinks, etc.”
