TSA at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Selects Sunshine
The team at Sunshine is proud to be serving a critical added role in helping keep travelers safe. We are working with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to provide extensive disinfecting and cleaning procedures at the checkpoint areas, checked baggage areas and administrative spaces. Every hour, the tables, bins, bowls, screening lanes and all equipment in the checkpoint areas are thoroughly sanitized and disinfected. During each shift, all high touch areas, such as tables, handrails, even walls, are disinfected on an on-going basis. At the end of each day, these areas are thoroughly cleaned with CDC-approved disinfectant applied with an electrostatic sprayer.

Shining a Light on Stalin Flores, Project Manager
Stalin Flores first entered the janitorial industry while working as a security guard in Boston, where he moved when he was 18. The night cleaning contractor told him about an opening. He applied and never looked back. His career has taken him to positions at Boston’s Logan Airport, the University of Miami and the Miami Airport. The Honduras native moved to Florida in 2006 after growing tired of the Boston winters.

He joined Sunshine in 2017 and says he has never worked for a company that invests so much in its employees. “Although it’s a big company, Sunshine is still family-owned and extremely supportive,” he said. “As a manager, I get so much support and see how well the company takes care of its employees.”

Married for 12 years to his high school sweetheart Carmen, Stalin enjoys playing basketball every day with his two sons, working around the house, playing golf and woodworking. The family lives in Sunrise, near the airport, where Stalin is often found on the job as early as 6:30 a.m.

CONQUERING COVID-19
Sunshine team members are highly trained, having completed the cleaning industry’s highest level of certification for battling COVID-19. Our signature Hygienic Clean program involves using Electrostatic Spraying and only EPA- and CDC-approved disinfectants in all services.
NEW CERTIFICATION
Sunshine Receives Women Business Enterprise Certification
In September, the Orlando International Airport officially certified Sunshine Cleaning Systems as a Minority/Women Business Enterprise (MWBE). The company holds the same certification in Charlotte, North Carolina and is certified in the State of North Carolina as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB).
