As with so many other industries, technology has changed the environment of furniture production.
Designers now have access to everything from multiple upholstery/hardware options and product programs to complete product customization through CAD-based design, 3D printing, and other methods. A majority of vendors now include a range of customization options in their offerings to the trade.

In a world of mass production, Old Biscayne Designs (OBD) excels in the art form of one-of-a-kind furniture design.
Whatever you can conceive, OBD can most likely create from scratch or modify from one of its existing designs. OBD boasts customization options including a multitude of wood and metal finishes, upholstery (COM or OBD leather and fabric options), as well as specialty finishing options.
Other specialty options include various premium wood species, hardware, mirror accents, and original sculpted wood patterns. All furniture is handcrafted from its Georgia factory.

Hickory Chair’s dedicated craftsmen give you true personalization with the Ceylon, Circles, Costigan, Hutton and Milo series of tables in the Made to Measure Table program. These tables are hand made upon receipt of your order. With your choice of size, veneer and finish a one-of-a-kind table will be created just for you. In addition, Hickory Chair offers the Fennel Mirror made with your choice of size, veneer, finish and hardware. The 17th Century Console is made with your choice of size, finish and nail. |

Much of the custom work done simply involves changing dimensions, while others involve unique tops or other materials, and many are completely original designs brought by designers or architects. Regardless of the project, it is something that is done daily.
