Cisco NetAcad Challenge

Competition Course Account

and Registration

Deadline: October 10

Dear Coaches,

For the CyberPatriot XV season there is a new registration process for the account used for the Cisco Networking Academy (NetAcad) Challenge Competition Course. The update was made to comply with new security policies put in place that require every Cisco NetAcad Account to be individually verified through an email link.

We recognize that these changes require additional effort from our coaches and mentors and are appreciative of your dedication to your students' success in the competition. Please note that the competition course registration is one-time only for the entire season. To complete the registration,

What was the process in the past?

In the past, the CyberPatriot Program Office created the Cisco NetAcad account for each team and published each team’s credentials on the Competition Dashboard.

What Is New?

For CP-XV, coaches will have to create a NetAcad account for use during the competition for each of their registered team(s). The CyberPatriot Program Office will have suggested credentials (Cisco Login & Cisco Password) loaded on the Competition Dashboard OR provide the formula coaches can use to create the credentials. The information provided below is the format convention that the account must be created in to facilitate the proper identification of each team.

Four Steps to Registering a Team for the Cisco NetAcad Competition

   1. Create a Gmail account with the (Cisco Login and Cisco Password convention) credentials.

 For example:

 Cisco login = CPXV.net15XXXX@gmail.com

 Cisco password = TeamUniqueIDcp15 (XXXX-XXXX-XXXXcp15)

   2. Create a NetAcad account using these credentials.

   3. Complete NetAcad account registration via the email verification process sent to the Gmail account created in the step above

   4. Submit the team’s information via a provided Google form at https://forms.gle/5sZ6n53cXzcusFyp8 so the CyberPatriot Program Office can validate the team’s account and enroll them in their respective course

Coaches must submit the Google form at https://forms.gle/5sZ6n53cXzcusFyp8 with account details by October 10 to complete their team registration.. Failure to submit the Google form will make a team ineligible to compete in the Cisco NetAcad Challenge during Round 1.

Below is a link to detailed instructions and a 3-minute instructional video on creating team account.

Please note that the creation and submission of these accounts are extremely time sensitive and must be completed no later than October 10, 2022, to guarantee access to the Cisco competition materials during Round 1. Failure to create your team’s NetAcad account will prevent the team from competing in the Cisco NetAcad Challenge.

Although coaches can create these accounts during the competition, any time loss completing this process cannot be reinstated. Furthermore, the CyberPatriot Program Office cannot guarantee access to Cisco NetAcad competition materials for teams that create their account during the Round.

  • No appeals will be accepted, nor special consideration given to teams that created their accounts after the due date above.
  • Due to the nature of the process, late accounts cannot be accommodated.

Therefore, a team that creates and submits their team’s Cisco account during Round 1 can only expect to have access to the Cisco materials for future rounds (i.e. Round 2, State Round, etc.).
