Greetings!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Cyclops Con was a huge hit, and it's all because of you. Below you will find some after-stories about the con, all of them good.

In addition, we've got some great new releases, one of which debuted at Cyclops Con: our new VTT Tokens and Maps! Plus there are the previous season's convention modules, news about the next, NEXT OAR volume (can you say Temple of Elemental Evil?), our new PDF Landing Page, and much more.

The Dark Master returns to give you his opinion of Cyclops Con, we point you towards a class in the roots of fantasy literature, link you up to the estate of Jack Vance and the collection they're selling, and even recommend another online convention that serves a great purpose. And that's still not everything.

Oh, and we also have some news about something called DCC Days!

Let's get to it!
FROM THE DESK OF THE DARK MASTER
Wow, what a great Con. Cyclops Con has come and gone, and the memories will last forever. It was a great con, lots of fun, really fun seeing friends old and new. Thanks to all of you for making it so great. We plan to do something just as cool for DCC Days , which will be centered around Saturday, June 13. DCC Day has officially moved out a month to mid-June, and now we’re adding an online component, in addition to tons of free product. It’s going to be a great event, I assure you!

This week we put up some convention and retailer exclusives for sale on the web site. Normally we don’t do that. That’s what “exclusive” means, right? But at this point, our con schedule for the year is largely wiped out. Beginning with Gary Con, which was one of the first cons to get cancelled, the summer con schedule looks pretty non-existent right now. It may go past summer, too. Stores are closed, too, of course. That means these “exclusives” are currently unavailable anywhere, so we’ve brought them back for sale. They’re available in both print and PDF in our online store. I know many collectors prefer print, and our online store sold out of the print versions in minutes. The good news is, we haven’t finished raiding all the convention inventory stashes. We have seven reps who carry our line at cons around the nation. There will likely be another batch of con modules turning up when all the inventory has been counted. When that happens, you’ll have a second chance to pick up some these exclusives. (The inbound deliveries also include some of our con-exclusive dice colors, but that’s for another day.)

I just finished reading one of the stories submitted for issue #5 of Tales From The Magician’s Skull , and it’s very good. It’s going to be a good issue.

Well, that’s it for me. Back to work. Until next week!
ALMANTER SAYS COMPLETE YOUR CENSUS!
CYCLOPS CON
CYCLOPS CON RECAP!
Wow. Just…wow.

All of us here at Goodman Games want to thank you for making our very first Cyclops Con such a big hit! We had a great con thanks to each and every one of you. In these uncertain times, we all need to connect more than ever and YOU made that happen!

It was wonderful to see everyone’s faces and play such great games. We had multiple social hours which were a big hit with everyone. Also, we had some really great seminars, including What’s New With Goodman Games. Were you not able to watch it live, then come and  check out the replay at on Twitch . There were some big announcements that you don’t want to miss!

Again, thank you for making this such a wonderful success. We all hope to get together soon and raise a glass to each other.

With the changing world all around us, we’re adapting to new ways of gaming on a daily basis. And for those of us who’ve discovered the world of Virtual Table Tops (or VTTs) we’ve got some fantastic news!

Announcing the  DCC Lankhmar #11: The Rats of Ilthmar – VTT Map + Token Pack ! That’s right, we’ve put together some tools to help run our newest module on a VTT platform, and now it’s available directly to you! You watched it at Cyclops Con, and now you can have your own set! And this is just the FIRST VTT set that we have planned, so keep your eyes out in the near future for more great news!

On top of that—since conventions aren’t exactly happening right now—we’ve moved the product that was originally exclusive to the convention scene to our online store, along with another module that was hard to find and never before available online. So there is a quartet of great new DCC modules that you might not have seen before today.

Our current stock of print editions is mostly sold out, except for the 2020 module Accursed Heart of the World Ender . But we anticipate getting a restock on print copies of the 2017, 2018 and 2019 convention modules shown below. So even if you missed this round, you might still be able to get them!

Let’s take a closer look!

The perfect accessory to play  DCCL #11: The Rats of Ilthmar  on a virtual tabletop! This set of maps and tokens allows you to bring stunning visuals to your online session. • More than 60 monster tokens, representing the foes in the adventure: rats, giant rats, rat wights, ratman berserkers, rat priests and cultists, rat swarms, evil sailors, worshippers, primordial slime, the catacomb guardian, and more.
  • 24 player character tokens, representing 12 different Lankhmar character types, each with a male and female version. Thieves, wizards, and warriors a-plenty!

This VTT map+token pack is designed to be played with  Dungeon Crawl Classics Lankhmar #11: The Rats of Ilthmar. You can use the graphics herein without the adventure, but you’ll get the most out of them if you also own the adventure.

A level 3 DCC adventure set in Lankhmar!

A relic sacred to the Rat God lies protected beneath a temple in the trash-ridden city of Ilthmar. Those who venerate the Rat seek to turn the relic’s power against Ilthmar’s most hated rival: Lankhmar, the City of Sevenscore Thousand Smokes!

When Lankhmar’s Overlord learns of this plot, he dispatches a selected party of cut-throats, sorcerers, and alley-fighters to recover the relic before the scheme of the Rat God comes to fruition. But to succeed in their mission, the party will have to infiltrate the deepest depths of the Rat Sect and overcome a multitude of unexpected and dangerous guardians.

Do they have what it takes to succeed in the Overlord’s request—or will they end up another rat-gnawed corpse in the shark-infested waters of Ilthmar?

A Level 2 Adventure for DCC RPG

The Inn at Five Points is a local landmark, known for decent food, good drink, a good night’s rest—and a special reputation for neutrality. Warring parties use the Inn to negotiate and make peace. And now the amenable neutrality of the Inn has attracted the attention fo the Crawling Lord, the most and extreme defender of Law.

Can a rag-tag group of adventurers prevent the ascension of the vial Crawling Lord? Will they ever see the light of day again? And what exactly makes Arlo and Quendy’s rosemary bread so addictive? All this and more shall be answered at The Inn at Five Points.

BONUS: Four ACTUAL recipes from The Inn at Five Points cookbook!

A Level 1 Adventure for DCC RPG

Once every decade, the tides of the Empyrean Ocean recede far enough to reveal the highest eaves of a mysterious undersea tower. Long ago this was an eldritch fastness of Sezrekan the Elder, the most wicked wizard ever to plague the Known World, but now the tower is known simply as the final resting place of the fabled Black Pearl—an artifact rumored to bring doom upon all who dare to possess it.

Tonight the moon nearly fills the sky, and the tides have already begun to recede. Adventurers have eight short hours to explore the tower before the dark waters return. The fabled Black Pearl will be theirs for the taking…if they can survive the Pearl’s curse.

A Level 2 Adventure for DCC RPG

Deep in the jungles, amidst the ruins of an unimaginably ancient civilization, dangers lurk: feral tribes and predatory beasts, and darker things that civilized folks prefer to forget. You’ve heard the rumors of the treasure hordes of one of those great evils: the legendary serpent-man, Xiuhcoatl. They say that Xiucoatl is worshipped by feral tribes of degenerate serpent-men who call him The Emerald Cobra. Do you dare face their rites of blood and sacrifice?

A Level 2 Adventure for DCC RPG

Long ago, Frygorix of the Thousand Lies, a foul demon, ruled with fear from atop a lonely tor, spreading death and plague across the land. Two brave siblings, one bearing an enchanted shield of great power, challenged the demon, vowing to slay it and free the land. In their climactic battle, black towers of six-sided stone arose from the hilltop, an eerie outcropping called the Demon Crown by some. Stories hold that the shield lies untouched within the Demon Crown, but who knows what else might dwell within those weird, dark pillars of unearthly rock?
NEW PDF STORE IS OPEN!
Life has moved to a different world lately. We’re having to do almost everything online now—and that includes buying games.

To help out, we’ve updated and enhanced our PDF Store to make it more user-friendly and easier to locate everything you might be looking to find. We’ve divided out the product, classified it, and organized it to simplify your PDF-buying experience. It’s our new  PDF Store Landing Page !

One of the things that are easier to locate now are many of the books that have been out of print physically for years. You can still get many of the fan-favorite releases in PDF format through the PDF Store, not just from the modern era of  DCC RPG , but also from before it’s arrival.

Look for things like:

That’s just a SMALL sample of the PDF selection, and you can find all of it over on our new  PDF Store Landing Page !

And as a reminder, almost everything Goodman Games publishes is now Print + PDF, so even if you do want a physical copy of your product, you’ll be getting a PDF to go along with it in most cases.
ANNOUNCING OAR #6: THE TEMPLE OF ELEMENTAL EVIL
Third time up to bat this year, and we’re knocking this one out of the park.

Announcing Original Adventures Reincarnated #6: The Temple of Elemental Evil!

This exciting release reprints the original material from the published module  T1-4: The Temple of Elemental Evil , as well as the original version of  T1: The Village of Hommlet . Created by Gary Gygax and Frank Mentzer,  The Temple of Elemental Evil  has long been regarded as one of the greatest adventures in TSR’s publishing history. And we are proud to bring this module to a new audience.

Like all of the  Original Adventures Reincarnated  line, this release will contain both the original material scanned in and cleaned up to present it as it originally appeared, along with a full, new 5E translation in the second half of the book. The new material is being designed by a creative team led by Chris Doyle with contributions from Rick Maffei and others, all of whom are seasoned veterans of  Dungeons and Dragons  across its many incarnations.

Unlike the previous five volumes in the  OAR  line, the sheer size and scope of this module requires something new:  OAR #6: The Temple of Elemental Evil  will be released as a two-volume hardcover slipcase edition. The two volumes will also contain expert commentary about the original modules and their history.
Let’s look at the text from the back cover of the book:

EVIL BORN ANEW

The Village of Hommlet thrives again. Years ago, this quaint village nearly fell prey to a great, neighboring evil. The nearby Temple of Elemental Evil, a grand edifice of wickedness, was defeated after a great battle and thrown into ruin forever … or was it? Bandits have started to ride the roads again, and there are other ominous signs afoot. It is whispered that the demonic evil at the heart of the Temple was not truly conquered but merely imprisoned. Even now, agents of evil, malevolent beasts, and far worse creatures are conspiring to return the Temple to power and enslave the surrounding lands. Hommlet and the neighboring ruins may hold clues, but not everyone is to be trusted. Surely danger lies hidden in this idyllic region.
Sharpen your swords and axes. Purchase your iron rations and tinderboxes. And don’t forget at least one 10-foot pole. Great adventure awaits those that dare confront the Temple of Elemental Evil!

This book collection is an homage to the origins of an adventure that began decades ago with T1: The Village of Hommlet and T1-4: The Temple of Elemental Evil. Herein you will find high-quality scans from multiple printings of the original first edition adventure modules, plus commentary by gaming legends. Full fifth edition conversions of both adventure books are included, as well as brand new adventure material that adds new wilderness encounters, expands the Village of Nulb, fully details the evil Elemental Nodes, and provides fifth edition updates of many original magic items, monsters, and spells. This is a fully playable mega-dungeon and mini-campaign—many hours of classic-style adventure await you!

You can look for  OAR #6: The Temple of Elemental Evil to arrive in late 2020 or early 2021.

And if you want to see the live announcement of  OAR #6: The Temple of Elemental Evil, check out the What’s New With Goodman Games seminar now on YouTube that was recently hosted at Cyclops Con! There’s a ton of great information on not just this release, but other products you can expect to see soon from Goodman Games!

DCC DAYS
AN UPDATE ON DCC DAYS!
Way back in February,  we announced DCC Day . This event is a celebration of all things  Dungeon Crawl Classics , giving fans and retailers a chance to game together and get free swag in the process.

Well, since February the world has changed—and so has  DCC Day ! Today we are announcing that Goodman Games will proceed with the event, now to be called  DCC Days , along with some changes to accommodate the world we now live in!

Here’s the scoop:
  • DCC Days will now be centered on Saturday, June 13. For stores, we will recommend this date for a local event of their choosing. Given varying local conditions, we will print all signage without a date. Stores that need to adjust the timing locally can do so as needed.
  • Goodman Games will support the event with DCC Days, an online celebration of DCC that runs from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, June 14. For gamers that just experienced Cyclops Con, this event will be similar in many ways!
  • The four previously-announced special releases for DCC Day 2020 are still planned as exclusives through retailers who sign up for DCC Days, though they will now ship with a target of a mid-June release date. These four releases include the two free titles, DCC Day 2020 Adventure Pack and the DCC Quick Start Rules, plus the priced titles DCC: Shadow of the Beakmen and the “Angry Hugh” edition of the DCC RPG Core Rulebook.
  • For stores that face local social distancing considerations and need to broaden their trading zone, Goodman Games will provide a retail locator that allows fans to locate participating stores and purchase DCC Days items in person or from the stores’ online storefronts.
  • Stores that have a room equipped for streaming are encouraged to schedule DCC games during DCC Days. Goodman Games will promote any DCC-related stream and also mirror store streams wherever possible.
  • We are adding additional VTT support for select DCC Days releases. More details will be provided on this in the weeks to come.

We hope all of these measures will ensure that both fans and game stores will have a great time during  DCC Days !

Many great retailers have already signed up for  DCC Days  at the GAMA Expo. We will soon be opening signup to the general retailer public. More to come once that is available!

Interested retailers can contact  info@goodman-games.com  in the meantime.

SUPPORT THE DCC KICKSTARTER FROM STUDIO 9
The fine folks at  Studio 9 Games  have launched a new  Kickstarter campaign for two booklets 101 City Encounters  for  Dungeon Crawl Classics  AND the “pub-crawl” adventure for small heroes,  A Strange Night at the Pint n’ Pony .

Here’s the description of each, straight from the Kickstarter:
A Strange Night at the Pint n’ Pony  is a 16-page richly illustrated stand-alone adventure built for  Dungeon Crawl Classics -but easily adapted into any fantasy RPG system. It is available as a softcover PRINT booklet and in a digital PDF format. This “short” adventure is fashioned for 16 starting (0-level funnel) characters among the smaller races; halfling, dwarven, gnome, wildling (wild elf) or human children. Great for a one-off evening of fun, or as the starting adventure for a group either new to  DCC RPG  or who want a fresh and challenging start as a group of shorties.
101 City Encounters  is a 16-page fully illustrated aide for judges creating city adventures (ideal for  DCC Lankhmar ). Also available as a softcover PRINT booklet and in a digital PDF format. This aide will bring any city to life. It supplies a detailed set of random events which will make your cities vibrant and exciting. It also features the Reputation & Infamy system for earning various forms of city faction. Players will now have their actions tracked, so they can feel the consequences and rewards of their actions in the social web of your city.
Not only do both of these books sound great, but they’ve decided to tie their Kickstarter directly into the Cyclops Con event that happened last weekend!

To begin with, they ran   A Strange Night at the Pint n’ Pony  during the convention, and if you participated in Cyclops Con, you can pledge at the special level detailed below:

HARLEY STROH'S AMA, AND JUDGE BRENDAN'S NEW GAME
We've got a pair of amazing things happening this weekend, and the first one is tonight!
10:00 pm EST, Friday, April 24

Ask Me Anything: Harley Stroh
Host:  Harley Stroh

What’s his favorite food? Where does he sit when he writes? Is he related to that beer company with the same name? These are just some of the questions that you can pose to one of the most popular writers in our company as he fields your queries for a full hour this week!

Due to an unexpected issue, Harley had to bow out of his AMA for Cyclops Con—but that didn’t get him off the hook! One of the most prolific of creators for Goodman Games, Harley Stroh describes himself as a “lucky guy that got to write some  DCC  adventures.” We disagree. They’re not just “some”  DCC  adventures, but some of the best adventures in the history of the industry. Come see why he deserves that rep! Streaming exclusively on the  Official Goodman Games Twitch Channel !
6:00 pm EST, Sunday, April 26

Swords Against Bandwidth
Host:  Brendan LaSalle

Join Judge Brendan as he and a horde of his cohorts begin a regular weekly game that will be streamed on the  Official Goodman Games Twitch Channel !

Joining Brendan will be Jeff Goad, Tim Deschane, Valerie Emerson, Alex Kurowski, and Carmen Vance. What a fabulous group of gamers to watch!

Everything will begin with Judge Brendan running the players through this year’s convention module,  The Accursed Heart of The World Ender , and then will continue as an ongoing game past that.

So be sure to join him this Sunday as the journey begins!

BETTERING YOURSELF THROUGH QUARANTINE
For those very interested in the deep end of Appendix N, Signum University offers a class in the history of fantasy literature as it influenced Tolkien . Just looking at the curriculum for the class is amazing inspiration, giving an idea how deep the roots to fantasy travel before ever hitting Tolkien. We strongly encourage you to look at the class and the stories associated with it.

And they’re running a quarantine special in case you’re interested!
THE ESTATE OF JACK VANCE IS SELLING OFF BOOKS
As you know, Goodman Games has an arrangement with the estate of Jack Vance to release DCC: Dying Earth , based on the novels of the same name. The Vance estate owns a huge trove of Jack Vance books—many of them in great condition—from author advances, publisher copies, and other sources. Right now, they are selling off some of these classic books on their eBay store .

This is a great chance to snag some old classic books by Jack Vance. And not just a random paperback, either—some of these titles are very rare volumes!
SUPPORT THE CON OF CHAMPIONS
If you had a great time at Cyclops Con—and we certainly hope you did!—you might consider running a game for Con of Champions . What makes this special? We used the Tabletop Events software to run Cyclops Con and it worked great. Without it, the convention might not have run as smoothly.

Now Tabletop Events needs your help. The current pandemic has crushed the convention season, and that’s how this company survives. Without these shows, the software will die, and that would be a blow for all gamers.

Con of Champions is their own online show to help get them through these tough times. So if you are able, we encourage you to lend a hand and play (or run!) a game.

Look for more details at the link below.
