What Problems Do You Solve?
“Kids are voiceless. They need an advocate and need basic needs met to thrive. I believe the work I do with Friends of Foster Children is giving them hope. The Scholarship/Emancipation program I chair provides 35 students with awards ranging from $500 for community college, through $2500 for upper division at universities and each student has a volunteer mentor to monitor progress and provide moral support.”

“If you don’t meet the basic needs of a child, it snowballs.
Youth without stable, nurturing family
are also our future citizens, ensuring they have what ever we can provide to give their lives some "normalcy" is a priority. It’s important that they know someone cares and can help them on the road to success.”
More about Friends of Foster Children
Friends of Foster Children's mission is to enhance the quality of life for abused, abandoned, and neglected children in the San Gabriel Valley. Founded in 1976. FOFC provides goods, volunteer services, and financial support to children living in residential treatment centers, and to emancipated youth (those aged-out of Foster care system).
Over more than 4 decades, FOFC has provided:
- Holiday gifts for over 90,000 children
- More than $1 Million in scholarships and emancipation awards to foster youth
- Granted $1 million in assistance to local foster residential care facilities
- All this is accomplished by a few dozen volunteers, no offices or paid staff, and historically around 6% operating expenses.
