A special Thanksgiving message to all Cypress Creek staff from Ms. Aftab
(Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020)
Good morning Bears!
It was my first official year coordinating our Thanksgiving baskets… and let me tell you, I feel so blessed to work with such caring, kind-hearted co-workers. This year with pandemic and all, we received an abundance of food and gift card donations to provide to our MVP families!
I am proud to be a BEAR.
Shazia Aftab, M.S.,
Cypress Creek High School SAFE Coordinator

Pre IB with Mrs.Call
Mrs. Call's 7th period Pre IB Face-to-Face class met outside in the amphitheater to mimic the Greek tradition of oral storytelling while studying Circe, by Homer (BCE 800).
Each student had an opportunity to read aloud and experience what it was like to command an audience with a riveting story. They were joined by our Media Center Specialist, Mr. Oswald, who also "commanded the audience" by sharing some of his latest projects with the students.

On Thankfulness
I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual.
~ Henry David Thoreau, essayist
On Blessings
When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.
~ Willie Nelson, musician
On Gratitude
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.
~ Melody Beattie, author
On Conviviality
It's like being at the kids' table at Thanksgiving — you can put your elbows on it, you don't have to talk politics … no matter how old I get, there's always a part of me that's sitting there.
~ John Hughes, filmmaker
On Forgiveness
After a good dinner one can forgive anybody, even one's own relations.
~ Oscar Wilde, playwright
