Transportation

DETOUR

Dunwoody Road, a connector between Spalding Drive and Chamblee Dunwoody Road in the northwest corner of the city, is closed to thru traffic for several months.

Utility relocation and construction will make way for new sidewalks, storm drainage, and lighting improvements along the road. The City’s contractor will also begin clearing, constructing retaining walls, and making sidewalk improvements to the entrance of the Oakpointe subdivision.

The Georgia Department of Transportation began work this week on Peachtree Dunwoody Road that will require the reduction from two southbound lanes to one southbound lane from Hammond Drive to I-285 and a reduction of the lane widths northbound from Lake Hearn to the interstate. Periodic full closures will also be necessary but limited to nights and weekends only.
