Berman Commons
Open to all in the community, Berman Commons (2026 Womack Rd.) will host a caregivers support group on the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 21. It will be facilitated by a geriatric counselor and care manager. Walk-ins are welcome, but RSVPs are appreciated. Email Amanda Hamilton.

ACAP Atlanta
Beginning this month, Adult Children of Aging Parents (ACAP) Atlanta will offer in-person and virtual programs on the second Wednesday of the month (the first date is Feb. 8). This month’s topic is Finding Clarity in Confusion: A Dementia Presentation for Care Partners. Doors open at 5 p.m. and presentations start at 5:30 p.m. The programs will be held at Town Square in Sandy Springs, 8601 Dunwoody Place, Building 1, Suite 130.

MARTA riders:
Make note of track closure
MARTA will suspend a section of the Red Line along GA-400 south of the Medical Center station beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 through Wednesday, Feb. 22 to replace the section's track. Local and express bus shuttles will be available between the Medical Center, Buckhead and Lenox stations.

Building off the success of last year’s groundbreaking fundraising event, Spruill Center for the Arts will present the 2023 Artistic Affair: An Arts Experience to be held at Factory Atlanta on March 24 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Artistic Affair features a whole new lineup of exciting experiences to enjoy while helping fund programs and outreach efforts that support a community in which arts and culture matter. Guests will bid on their favorite original art by Spruill teaching artists and student artists in Silent and Live Auctions. The Spruill Center for the Arts presents Inside the Classroom: An exhibition of works created by Spruill instructors and their students.
The Spruill Center opens a new exhibition this week on view in the Hallway Gallery at the Spruill Education Center on Chamblee Dunwoody Road. With more than 60 works of art to consider, visitors will see the exquisite art of teaching artists John Horne (drawing), Julie Mazzoni (mosaics art) and Chad Creasy (painting), along with student art that represents their commitment to excelling in these mediums.

Stage Door Theatre begins the second half of its 49th season of live theater with the romantic comedy Completeness by Tony award-winning playwright Itamar Moses.
Completeness follows two graduate students through their journey of falling in love while making audiences laugh at how wrong - and how right - relationships can go.

February Master Gardener Talk: Honeybees

The Dunwoody Community Garden will host its monthly Master Gardener talk on Saturday, Feb. 11. Cindy Hodges is a Master Gardener, a Master Beekeeper, and volunteer who's responsible for managing the bee hives at Brook Run Park. She will be sharing information on honeybees. We all know how yummy honey is, but there is so much more about the busy bees most folks don't know. Get ready for an hour packed full of useful tips and information and the opportunity to share with other gardeners.
The talk will take place in the DCGO Greenhouse complex, opposite the Skate Park, in Brook Run Park. The talk begins at 11 a.m. and doors open a few minutes before then. Attendees are welcome to mingle with fellow gardeners and/or browse the book collection for something to buy.

Understanding Alzheimer's Disease

Dr. David Weinshenker of the Emory University School of Medicine will discuss Alzheimer’s Disease and the research that is being conducted by the Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center during a free seminar at the Dunwoody Library on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. There will be a Q&A session after the presentation. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is not required.

All are invited to gather to the sound of bagpipes and compete in the 17th Annual Tartan Trot 5K/10K race on Saturday, Feb. 11, starting at 8 a.m. The Tartan Trot features two full-loop “Peachtree qualifying” races that start and end at Saint Luke’s Presbyterian Church, 1978 Mt. Vernon Road. Virtual options are available. Walkers, strollers and dogs are welcome.
Funds raised support St. Luke's work with Habitat for Humanity, the Community Assistance Center, Family Promise and more, plus mission work in places like Guatemala, Honduras, and Africa.
