Dunwoody releases Proposed FY2026 Budget
The City of Dunwoody has released its proposed Fiscal Year 2026 Operating and Capital Budget- a $70.5 million plan focused on public safety and customer service, while maintaining strong financial reserves. The FY2026 Proposed Budget is 0.2% lower than the amended FY2025 budget, reflecting disciplined spending and long-term fiscal stewardship.
The proposed budget, presented by Mayor Lynn Deutsch and City Manager Eric Linton, will be presented and discussed during a Special Called Dunwoody City Council Meeting on Monday, September 29, at 10 a.m. at Dunwoody City Hall (4800 Ashford Dunwoody Road). This will be followed by two required public hearings before final adoption later this fall.
The FY2026 Proposed Budget is available for public review on the City’s website. Public hearings will be held on October 14 and October 27 at 6 p.m. at Dunwoody City Hall.

Paving Update
The paving portion of Dunwoody's 2025 Street Resurfacing Plan is complete!
Here's what's left:
- Maintenance patching on Tilly Mill Road and Peachford Drive
- Utility adjustments
- Speed table installation
- Striping and final touches in various locations
- Corrective repairs in Dunwoody North
The original paving plan included 10 lanes over 23 streets. City Council approved four additional streets for resurfacing using supplemental funding from GDOT. In total, crews repaved 27 streets - 12.2 lane miles - this year.

Dunwoody Municipal Court:
Amnesty Program through September
Individuals with past-due traffic citations or active bench warrants for failing to appear in court can take advantage of the City's Amnesty Program, available through Sept. 30. The goal is to resolve outstanding violations and reduce arrests. To participate, visit Municipal Court (4800 Ashford Dunwoody Rd.) on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Fridays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Kids Bike Safety Rodeo

Drop in between 8 and 10 a.m.
Bring the kids and their bikes for a fun, free, hands-on Bike Safety Rodeo at Brook Run Park on Sept. 13. It's an interactive event designed to build confidence and teach safe riding habits in a playful, welcoming environment.
Designed for children ages 5 to 14 who can confidently ride without training wheels or on balance bikes. They'll learn bike handling, safety skills, road signs, and hand signals. Kids can ride through a fun skills and obstacle course. Stop by between 8 and 10 a.m. to meet local bike safety volunteers and police officers. Free helmets available while supplies last. Hunger Action Month
September is National Hunger Month, and Dunwoody Parks & Recreation will collect shelf-stable food during the next Groovin’ on the Green concert on September 13.

Join Create Dunwoody for a hands-on Scarecrow-Making Workshop at the Village Ace Hardware! This is a fun fall activity for families, friends, and all ages. We provide the kits - you bring the personality with your choice of clothing and fun accessories, then enter the Scarecrow Showdown. Kits are $25. It's $30 for the kit and workshop. Kits include wooden cross stakes - 1 vertical (approx. 4-5 ft) and 1 horizontal (approx. 2-3 ft), zip ties for securing limbs and clothing, a burlap sack for the head, and 1/4 bale of straw for stuffing.

New Art Exhibition: Preternatural
Sept. 19 - Oct. 30
The Spruill Gallery’s newest exhibition, Preternatural, will feature works by accomplished environmental artists Pam Longobardi and Dana Montlack. Longobardi is a recipient of the coveted Hudgens prize and is recognized globally for her work on the Drifters Project, through which she collects ocean and seashore plastic for use in artistic sculptures and installations.
Montlack’s work explores similar environmental themes, and her art has been displayed across the country and alongside the iconic Burning Man festival. An installation titled Under Construction by artist Noah Reyes will accompany their works.
This exhibition will run from Sept. 19 to October 30, and a free opening reception will be held at the Spruill Gallery on Sept.19 from 6 to 9 p.m.
