Holiday Food Drive
Dunwoody Police are hosting a food drive to help families working with I Care America, Inc.
Through Nov. 18, nonperishable food donations can be dropped off at locations throughout Dunwoody:

Veterans Day Ceremony
Tuesday, Nov. 11
Veterans Memorial at Brook Run Park
10 a.m.
The City of Dunwoody will commemorate Veterans Day with a special ceremony and the dedication of the city’s new Veterans Memorial at Brook Run Park. The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m., at 4770 N. Peachtree Rd. All are welcome.
This year’s featured speaker is Captain Wayne Radloff, USN (Ret), a long-time Dunwoody resident who served more than 30 years of active duty as a Naval Flight Officer. This annual program is hosted by Dunwoody Parks and Recreation with support from the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs VFW Post 10822 and the Dunwoody Woman’s Club. Learn more

Sign up for a 10-minute holiday photo shoot with Paul Ward Photography at the N. Shallowford Annex (4470 N. Shallowford Rd). Time slots are from 5 to 8 p.m., and they're going fast.
Get a professionally retouched, fashion-inspired image for $25 (includes digital download). Santa will be there too!

Women’s History Month Murals:
Calling all artists!
Dec. 15 deadline for submissions
Dunwoody Parks & Recreation is issuing a "Request for Qualifications" (RFQ) for the design of large-scale murals celebrating Women's History Month. Murals will be displayed at the Brook Run Skate Park from March 1-31, 2026.
The selected artists will be expected to work in conjunction with the Dunwoody Art Commission in the approval process to implement the design.

Join us at Dunwoody Nature Center for an inspiring afternoon with award-winning author and naturalist Mark Warren, founder of the nationally renowned Medicine Bow Wilderness School in Dahlonega, Ga. In his program, The Forest’s Gifts of Food, Medicine and Craft as Practiced by the Native Americans, Mark will share how traditional knowledge of native plants continues to offer valuable lessons for modern life.
Through a captivating slide presentation and hands-on examples, you’ll explore the many uses of plants and trees for food, medicine, insect repellent, craft, shelter, and fire. Mark will also display handmade crafts for viewing and discussion, offering a deeper connection to the practical and cultural wisdom of the forest.

“Georgia Cemeteries: A Stroll Through the Magnolia Gates”
Join Traci Rylands for a journey through some of the Peach State’s most interesting graveyards, from the largest privately-owned cemetery in the Southeast to the humble family graveyard. Georgia is home to a wide variety of final resting places worth exploring.
Traci Rylands writes for her blog and is a photo volunteer for Findagrave.com. She has visited and researched cemeteries in more than 25 states.

DPT's monthly Game Night is back on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Donaldson-Bannister Farm. Pop by for an hour or two, or even stay all evening! Bring a game to share or come try something new. Playing is free, and donations are accepted.
Held every third Saturday, Game Night is a great way to spend time with others who enjoy board games. It also offers a great opportunity to meet new friends (and maybe find some new alternates for your table!).

Lantern Decorating Workshops

Nov. 16: Shops of Dunwoody Farmers Market, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Join Create Dunwoody for one of two upcoming Lantern Decorating Workshops. Open to all ages, this fun and creative experience is preparation for the Lantern Parade at the Village Holiday Celebration on Nov. 23.
Participants purchase a lantern kit that includes a paper lantern, a dowel, and lights to illuminate their creation. Use your imagination to decorate your lantern with paint, paper, stickers, or other materials. We’ll provide some art supplies, but you’re welcome to bring your own! Whether whimsical, traditional, or totally out-of-the-box, your lantern will help light up the night during the community parade. Kits are available for purchase at Ace Hardware and Judy and Grace Boutique.

The Community Assistance Center's Hope for the Holidays program matches families in need with community sponsors to donate holiday gifts for their children. The program is open to families in need with children ages 0-18 who live in Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, and the part of Doraville served by Dunwoody schools.
