2021-22 OFFICERS
Per Roberts Rules of Order and the current COVID-19 situation, the membership voted to unanimously accept the nominees as elected by Acclamation.
Meet your friends and the 2021-2022 officers.
President Chris McKenzie
I have been a member of the DOE since Fall, 2003. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving our organization as an elected board member for two terms (2005 & 2006) and as chair of the following committees: Publicity (2009), Membership (2010 & 2011), Sergeant-at-Arms (2014), and Spirituality (2015 & 2016). In addition, I co-chaired the Dublin Irish Festival Tea Room with Karen Komatsu from 2005 to 2010 and from 2013 to 2017. In 2014, I was honored to be named DOE Irish Woman of the Year.
This past year, I have served as DOE President. This has been an incredibly challenging year for all of us. We have not had the opportunity to meet in person nor to enjoy our traditional parties and events. However, we have been able to maintain our charitable mission through donations to area organizations and by generously supporting families in need through our Adopt-a-Family activities. Our drive-thru scone sale, bake sale and donations from members of the DOE and other members of Clann na nGael helped maintain our finances.
As life begins to be more normal, I am looking forward my next chapter as DOE President. I pray that under my continued leadership, we will grow our membership, friendships and charitable activities.
Chris

Vice President Sharon Tantes is the daughter of Suzanne Longenbaker who belonged to the Daughter's of Erin more than 20 years ago.
My sister Nancy Longenbaker and I joined the Daughters of Erin in 2001 and have been active since then. Nancy and I have coordinated and organized the fundraising table since 2003 when Julie McGhee asked us to take it over. Since then, I have served as a Board Member, Parliamentarian and Vice President. I was Member of the Year in 2008, Irish Woman of the Year in 2013 and have assisted with many events over the years. Thank you to everyone as we work together with a commitment to our charities and Irish culture.

Secretary Becky Ellis
Hello, my name is Becky Ellis. I’m currently the Secretary on the Board and would like to continue for another term.
Over the years I have served in many capacities beginning as Hospitality Chair, Secretary and President. I have chaired or volunteered for many of the DOE activities including the Irish Breakfast, Christmas dinner, Tea Rooms at both the DIF and the Summer Feis, Golf Outing and many more.
Just months into my first year as President I discovered our Treasurer had embezzled every penny of our money. That led to me becoming much more intimate with the legal and financial workings of a 5013(3) than I had ever imagined. That experience left me with a unique understanding the organization and all it’s parts. I bring that history with me when helping make decisions that effect the organization.
I also discovered how tight the Irish community is and why the DOE and the people I have met and become friends with have meant so much to m

Board Delegate Colleen Collins
I have been an active Daughters of Erin member for about 20 years! What started out as something to get out of the house and get involved with volunteering became more than that! Not only have I made a lot of fantastic friends who I consider my family, my membership opened my eyes to the needs of our community. There are so many out there who are in need of help from organizations such as the DOE! I’m proud to be a member of the Daughters of Erin and the work we do. Let’s face it, we're all members of this truly wonderful organization because of who we are, what we do for the community and the support we have for each other as well as our Clann na nGael family, right?
Over the years, I've served as Vice President, Board member, Chair of the Spiritual, Hospitality, Traditions Committees and DOE Dart League. I’ve also helped with the DOE Golf Outing, Tea Room at the Dublin Irish Festival and our Irish Breakfast. My heart is full of Daughters of Erin love and respect because everyone has been tremendous to my family throughout the years. I will continue to uphold the DOE Constitution and Bylaws.
Slàinte, Colleen
Irish Woman of the Year 2015 and Irish Member of the Year 2012
