Como Community Arts Survey

We are partnering with Como artist Rhiannon Fiskradatz to learn more about how we can better engage local artists with the community. There are many artists living and working in our Como Park neighborhoods to create awe-inspiring work, beautiful spaces, and evocative events while engaging in their personal and professional creative practices.

We are embarking on a survey of local residents to find out what kinds of projects you all are interested in seeing these creative humans bring to life in service of our community. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts about the inclusion of arts and arts activities in Como Park life!

Community Input Requested

Help improve bus stop signs!

Metro Transit is evaluating the information displayed at bus stops and wants to hear from you.

Currently, at high-ridership stops with no shelter Metro Transit posts additional signs that include:

  • Route number, travel direction and destination(s)
  • Frequency chart
  • Simplified route map

The goal of the survey is to collect feedback to redesign the signs and information to learn:

  • What customers want to see displayed at bus stops;
  • How information should be displayed;
  • How customers currently plan trips and use existing bus stop sign information.

Please take a quick survey by June 15 at metrotransit.org/bus-stop-survey.

Met Council: Submit proposed updates for regional bicycle network, bicycle barriers and barrier crossing areas

The Metropolitan Council is receiving proposed changes to the Regional Bicycle Transportation Network (RBTN) or additional Regional Bicycle Barriers or Barrier Crossing Areas from now through June 30. To submit proposed updates and learn more about the process, visit these links:

These established elements of the regional Transportation Policy Plan are used in the Regional Solicitation scoring criteria for selecting projects to receive federal transportation funds. Updates approved through this process will be added to the maps used during the upcoming 2026 Regional Solicitation.

 These application processes are for agencies that have responsibility for bicycle system planning and facility development within their jurisdictions.

Regional Bicycle Transportation Network updates

This update process will consider the following changes or additions:

  1. New corridors or alignments that connect to existing Regional Bicycle Transportation Network corridors or alignments
  2. Extensions of existing corridors or alignments
  3. Proposed shifts or realignments of existing corridors and alignments

Note that inclusion on the Regional Bicycle Transportation Network is not required for a project to qualify for federal funds through the Regional Solicitation. However, inclusion on, or connection to the Regional Bicycle Transportation Network is a key scoring criterion in the Multi-Use Trails/Bicycle Facilities funding category.

Regional Bicycle Barrier and Barrier Crossing Area updates

This update process will consider the following changes:

  1. Adding a new Regional Bicycle Barrier consistent with the definitions described on the change request application form.
  2. Adding a planned bicycle facility improvement location that crosses a Regional Bicycle Barrier and is not currently included within a prioritized Regional Bicycle Barrier Crossing Area for the specific barrier type.

The application submission period goes through June 30, 5pm.

 If you have any questions about the updates, application, or request form, contact Steve Elmer at steven.elmer@metc.state.mn.us or Jed Hanson at jed.hanson@metc.state.mn.us.
