April and spring weather are upon us. This is one of my favorite time of year: nature is awakening, the days are getting longer,
and we get a chance to witness the best speakers during contests within District 101.

Show your support and participate in your Division contest, and consider attending another contest to get even more out of your membership.
From the fabulous speeches delivered, I walk away with ideas for new speaking styles and an inspiration to do good things. I love hearing new tips and techniques from the Evaluation contestants. I aspire to be become a better speaker and getting better at sharing feedback from seeing the many different contestants. Join me and attend the upcoming contest(s) near you. This past month,
Inspired Orators San
joined the District 101 Toastmasters family. The charter members of both these clubs participated in their Area contest with great enthusiasm. I applaud them, and all others who have actively contributed to a recent contest, even if it was “just” being an audience member. There is always something to learn along the way, regardless of our role. Are you ready to talk up Toastmasters? Do you have an idea or suggestion to start a new club in your company or community? Then contact our Club Extension Chair,
, to learn more about what there is to gain in the process.
If you want to expand your horizons, polish your skills or deepen your knowledge on how to run a spectacular event, do not hesitate to contact your

On May 18, each club has two votes to elect the upcoming leadership team. Every club President and VP Education of a club in good standing is invited to attend - for free - the District Business meeting starting at 2 PM on Saturday May 18 at the Biltmore Hotel in Santa Clara. No need to register online, but checking in with the Credentials desk before the start of the meeting is required. Should these club officers be unable to attend the meeting, they can assign a

Taking that first step is what will propel you to go
Above & Beyond
and potentially discover yourself as a leader.
If you have never attended a District event like the Annual Conference or the Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI), take a look at the

Spring is truly a time when nature starts anew. Invite your colleagues, friends and neighbors to attend a Toastmasters club, and give them a chance to refresh themselves as well. And when you see someone standing out and inspiring others with their contributions, tell them! Nothing feels better than hearing “You did a great job with this” when you thought that your efforts weren’t noticed.
I have heard from some of you and your experiences over these past few months.

I hope to see you at your Division Contest(s)!
