Barrington 220 weekly COVID-19 update
March 15, 2021

Dear Barrington 220 Community:

As a reminder, tomorrow will be the first day for all middle school students who selected in-person learning to return to BMS-Prairie and BMS-Station five days/week for the entire school day. All students who selected Distance Learning will remain in that instructional model.

All elementary students who selected in-person learning will be able to return for five days/week, full-day instruction beginning on Monday, March 29. Please remember, Thursday, March 18 will be an asynchronous distance learning day for ALL elementary students, in order to implement operational changes in the buildings. All students who selected Distance Learning will remain in that instructional model.

All Barrington High School students who selected in-person learning already have the option to attend school five days/week for an entire school day. This has been possible due to lower in-person student attendance at the high school.

Please remember, although we are now welcoming back students at all grade levels for full 5 days/week instruction, our COVID-19 mitigation efforts are remain in effect. We are still in a very restricted environment following public health guidelines. This means families must continue completing the COVID-19 Symptom Screening each day before school. Spring break travel information
Spring Break in Barrington 220 is the week of March 22 - March 26. If you are planning to travel, we wanted to share these public health guidelines for domestic and international travel in regards to quarantine procedures. Please note, this guidance changes frequently and may change over the next couple of weeks.

Any student in grades 6-12 who needs to quarantine due to travel will be able to do concurrent instruction from home, as our secondary teachers are already teaching students in the classroom and students who are at home concurrently (at the same time).

All elementary students who must quarantine due to travel can use sick days, which will be marked as EXCUSED absences. When traveling, students will have access to assignments through SeeSaw or Schoology to work on lessons independently. As we have provided in the past, elementary students who must quarantine upon return to the state, or upon illness or Covid exposure, will be allowed to learn concurrently. If you have any questions, please contact your school office.
