Barrington 220 weekly COVID-19 update
April 12, 2021

Dear Barrington 220 Community:

First, as we begin this week we wanted to share that all Illinois residents age 16 and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Remember, however, that eligibility does not mean availability. It will take time for everyone to have an appointment available to them. Families and high school students interested in making an appointment can visit the following websites to register:

2021-22 proposed Virtual/Blended Program Q&A
Last week Barrington 220 sent out a questionnaire asking families to choose whether or not they wish to participate in a proposed Virtual/Blended Program for the 2021-2022 school year. The district will be hosting a virtual information session about the proposed program in order to share more details and explain how it would differ from our current Distance Learning Program. Please join us on Zoom on Monday evening, April 19, 2021, for a short presentation and Question and Answer Session. An invitation will also be sent to families through Infinite Campus.

It is important to note that a student who chooses to participate in the Virtual/Blended Program can not participate in another district program such as Chinese Immersion, Spanish Dual Language or the Extended Self-Contained Program. It is also important to note that if not enough families sign up to participate in a virtual program next school year, it is possible the district may not be able to offer it. In addition, if the district is able to implement the program for the 2021-22 school year, there is no guarantee the district will continue offering the program beyond next school year.
Upcoming Board of Education meeting
The next regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting is Tuesday, April 20 at 7pm. The meeting will be held in person at the District Administrative Center.

The number of people in the room will be limited to 50, as suburban Cook County and Lake County are in Phase 4 under the State’s Restore Illinois Plan. The livestream of all meetings are viewable via the Board's YouTube channel.
