"Weingut Villa Wolf" Complimentary Tableside Wine Tasting,
Friday, April 30, 5:30-8:30pm
(Free wine tasting)

Join us as we add to our selection of Villa Wolf wines and getting us all ready for the summer wine season!
Famed Mosel Riesling winemaker Ernst Loosen purchased the Villa Wolf Estate in the Pfalz village of Wachenheim in 1996. Of course, Villa Wolf produces excellent, mineral-driven dry Rieslings from the estate’s sandstone, limestone and basalt soils. But its focus on Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris have generated more attention. The Pinot Noir Rose in particular is downright addictive. All of the Villa Wolf wines are clean, pure, bright, focused and extremely food-friendly. They also represent superb value. Erni Loosen calls his second winery “True Pfalz”. We will taste:
Villa Wolf Pinot Gris 2019 — The Pfalz region is located along the Rhine river, just opposite from Alsace. Pinot Gris has a long tradition here. This wine is richer and more intense than most Pinot Gris at this price point. 100% stainless steel fermented. Aromas of white peach, Anjou pear, white flowers and beeswax. Clean, pure and juicy on the palate with uncommon density and acidity; full-bodied, dry style with fresh, unoaked fruit and a crisp texture. A perfect match for salmon, grilled chicken or your favorite pork chop recipe. Rating: 89, Wine Enthusiast. $15.99/$7
Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rosé 2109 — The Pfalz is a very warm and sunny region, often called the "Tuscany of Germany," so all of the Pinot varieties do well here. The Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rosé is a true rosé, made with a brief maceration before pressing to extract color. It is light and refreshing, with deliciously bright berry and fruit flavors and a clean, zippy finish. Pretty, berry and floral notes, the palate juicy with lively, citrusy acidity, supported by a gentle spritz. Barely off-dry. It's perfect for holiday meals, especially when ham is involved. Rating: 90, James Suckling. $14.99/$7
Villa Wolf Pinot Noir 2019 — Pinot Noir has a long tradition in the Pfalz region of Germany, where it is known as Spatburgunder. The Villa Wolf Pinot Noir is warm and medium-bodied, with a firm acid structure. Its bright black-cherry fruit is juicy, ripe, and forward, with a spicy midpalate and lingering finish. A minimum of twelve months of aging in used French oak barriques gives the wine a smoky depth and a nice touch of earthy tannins. It’s an excellent, approachable red wine for everyday dining. The 2018 was rated a 90, Wine Enthusiast. $16.99/$7
We are continuing with tableside for a little bit longer. C’mon in when you’re ready. Please sit at a table that matches your party size so that we can accommodate everyone.
Masks are required upon entry to the store, until you are seated, and if you need to get up. As always, feel free to bring snacks/dinner with you, but please dispose of your own trash (there is a garbage can at the back entrance of the store). Thanks y’all, see you Friday!!
