Reconnoitering Rioja Complimentary Tableside Wine Tasting
at Craft'd
Friday, April 9th 5:30-8:30pm (FREE)

Spanish wines are delicious and very reasonably priced right now. Join us as we explore Rioja.

Isaac Fernandez has been making wines in Rioja for more than 30 years. The vineyards are located in and around Fuenmayor, in the heart of Rioja Alta in North-Central Spain. The mountains and continental climate offer perfect conditions for the cultivation of Tempranillo. The altitude of the vineyards is slightly higher than in most of Rioja, resulting in wines of with good freshness. The grapes are carefully hand harvested. No wine-making additives are used and the wines are very minimally fined or filtered.

We will taste:
  • La Perla White Wine Rioja 2109, $13.99/$7 — Grown on 40+ year-old vines, aged in stainless steel. Clean and citrusy with a nose of stone fruit and green apple. Blend: 92% Viura, 8% Malvasia

  • La Perla Rioja Red 2018, $16.99/$8 — 100% Tempranillo. Grown on 35+ year-old vines. Aged five to six months in American oak and nine months in bottle. Bright red in the glass with aromas of fresh red fruit and hints of vanilla. Well-structured body with great complexity and a long, balanced finish.

  • La Perla Reserva Rioja Red 2014, $23.99/$10 — Grown on 55+ year-old vines. Aged 18 months in American and French oak and 18 months in bottle. Red cherry color with fine complex ripe fruit aromas. On the palate it is elegant, full-bodied with a long finish. Blend: 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo

Tastings are tableside, c’mon in when you’re ready. Please sit at a table that matches your party size so that we can accommodate everyone. Masks are required upon entry to the store, until you are seated, and if you need to get up. As always, feel free to bring snacks/dinner with you, but please dispose of your own trash (there is a garbage can at the back entrance of the store).
Thanks y’all, see you Friday!!
