VOLUME 97 | July 2, 2019
Dear Neighbors,
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, in celebration of the 4th of July, Woodlawn Lake Park will fill with people, food, and games. It’s one of my favorite holidays of the year—not only because of its national importance, but because of how it brings residents together.

The night ends with a fireworks show at 9:00 p.m.

I’d love to see as many District 7 residents in their red, white, and blue as possible at Woodlawn Lake, but won’t be upset if you decide to attend one of the many other events across the city.

And don’t forget: as of Monday, July 1, e-scooters are not allowed on sidewalks.
Yours in public service,
Note: The District 7 Office will close in observance of Independence Day from July 3 to July 5.

Neighborhood of the Week:
Pembroke Village
The Pembroke Village neighborhood sign
Pembroke Village is a gated community of 58 single family homes. Situated just off Babcock Road and near Prue Road, the location is convenient to the Medical Center, USAA and UTSA, and residents can easily hop onto Interstate 10 for a quick downtown commute.

The homes were built in 1996 of brick and Hardie siding. Each home has an attached two-car garage. About half the homes are single story; the others are two-story. The largest floor plan has four bedrooms. There is a homeowner association with three volunteer board members. The only three streets in the neighborhood are all named "Pembroke" -- Lane, Circle, and Court -- which creates some mix-ups in mail and package delivery.
