New RAMP Coordinator

Dr Anna Firsova is the new Research Ambassador and Mentoring Program (RAMP) Coordinator at the Australian Association of Humboldt Fellows and the DAAD. Anna works on a part-time basis and is responsible for communicating with current and potential mentors and mentees, establishing and managing mentoring pairs, maintaining a mentoring database and promoting the program. She is a research professional with more than ten years of work experience in the areas of corporate sustainability and reporting, environmental certification, waste management and national environmental and climate policies. She is a former DAAD Research Scholarship holder and received her PhD in Environmental Studies from Macquarie University.

Information Session at St. Peters Lutheran College

We had the pleasure to hold an information session on studying in Germany at St. Peters Lutheran College in Brisbane. Students, parents and teachers were able to get an insight into requirements and procedures to be able to study in Germany as well as general information about living in Germany. Science Workshop in German

The Goethe-Institut in Melbourne and Sydney organised Science Workshops for secondary school students that aimed at engaging students in hands-on workshops, learn German and get to know recent research projects conducted by German scientists. The workshops included an information session on studying in Germany by DAAD. 

State visit to Australia by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany

For the first time in 16 years a German president visited Australia. Frank Walter Steinmeier opened together with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference in Perth, a conference with a focus on expanding trade and investment between Australia and Germany.
