offering internship opportunities to students in the natural sciences and engineering fields. Applications for internships taking place next year are due on
December 15th
.

RISE Germany and RISE Professional Internship Databases Now Open
DAAD's
RISE programs
offer scholarships to support
internship opportunities
for
students
in
engineering and earth, natural and life sciences
. Students can learn about the internship opportunities open to them in the online project database which is open from
November 1st
until the application deadline of
December 15th
.
RISE Germany
provides undergraduates students in the aforementioned fields the opportunity to carry out a 2-3 month research internship in the lab of a German doctoral student, usually in the summer semester after the applicant's third year.
RISE Professional
offers graduate level students (Master's or PhD) in science or engineering-related programs the chance to do a 2-3 month internship in a workplace setting in Germany. While German language skills are helpful, the program database also includes internships in settings where English is the working language.

programmes RISE
du DAAD offrent des bourses pour appuyer les

. Les étudiants peuvent se renseigner sur les possibilités de stages qui s’offrent à eux dans la base de données en ligne des projets. Elle est ouverte du
1er novembre
jusqu’à la date limite de candidature du
15 décembre
.
RISE Allemagne
offre aux étudiants de premier cycle dans les domaines susmentionnés la possibilité d’effectuer un stage de recherche de 2 à 3 mois dans le laboratoire d’un doctorant allemand, généralement pendant le semestre d’été qui suit la troisième année du candidat.
RISE Professionnel
offre aux étudiants de deuxième et troisième cycle (maîtrise ou doctorat) en sciences ou en génie la possibilité d’effectuer un stage de 2 à 3 mois dans un environnement de travail en Allemagne. Bien que les compétences en allemand soient utiles, la base de données du programme comprend également des stages dans des contextes où l’anglais est la langue de travail.

"Climate Resilient Cities" Symposium Held in Toronto
On October 31st, DAAD was pleased to present
"Climate Resilient Cities – The Interplay of Research, Innovation and Society", an interdisciplinary symposium to facilitate scientific discussion and networking between German and Canadian researchers and professionals working in relevant fields.
Featuring a keynote from
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Kropp
from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research, the
symposium took place at Toronto's Massey College and was based on a program put together by Ellen Gute (PhD Candidate Physical and Environmental Sciences, University of Toronto). Amanda Loder, (PhD Candidate Physical Geography, University of Toronto) and Alexander Moravek (Postdoctoral Researcher, York University).
Dr. Nicola
Vöhringer, Director of the DAAD Information Centre Toronto, observed, "DAAD was pleased to support this event as it dovetailed perfectly with our mandate to foster exchange between scholars from Germany and their counterparts here in Canada."

Symposium « Climate Resilient Cities » tenu à Toronto
Le 31 octobre, le DAAD a eu le plaisir de présenter « Climate Resilient Cities - The Interplay of Research, Innovation and Society », un symposium interdisciplinaire visant à faciliter la discussion scientifique et le réseautage entre chercheurs et professionnels allemands et canadiens travaillant dans des domaines pertinents.
En plus d’un discours du
Dr Jürgen Kropp
du Potsdam Institute for Climate Research, le symposium qui a eu lieu au Massey College de Toronto était basé sur un programme élaboré par Ellen Gute (doctorante en sciences physiques et environnementales, Université de Toronto). Amanda Loder (candidate au doctorat en géographie physique, Université de Toronto) et Alexander Moravek (chercheur postdoctoral, Université York).
