As an unprecedented academic year recedes from view, we all look back on a remarkable period of change and adaptation. What awaits in the fall remains unclear, but it is certain that we will all be calling on our creativity and resilience repeatedly in the weeks and months to come.
In anticipation of a return to more settled times, however, DAAD and its partners continue their work to promote Germany as a destination for study and research. Recently
DAAD's President Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee
released a
video statement on the pandemic and the response to it

We are pleased to let you know that, as things stand at present,
the fall deadlines for DAAD's suite of scholarship and grant programs for students and professors will roll out as usual

Immune Response Against Corona Infection
Immunologists at the
Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors (IfADo)
,
in collaboration with local partners, are currently developing methods to detect antibodies against the novel coronavirus. Their aim is not only to determine whether antibodies are present in a person’s blood, but also to identify the actual role of these antibodies.
Thus, the team is investigating how well certain antibodies can mediate immunity against SARS-CoV-2.

en collaboration avec des partenaires locaux, développent actuellement des méthodes pour détecter les anticorps contre le nouveau coronavirus. Leur objectif est non seulement de déterminer si des anticorps sont présents dans le sang d'une personne, mais aussi d'identifier le rôle réel de ces anticorps. Ainsi, l'équipe étudie dans quelle mesure certains anticorps peuvent servir de médiateur dans l'immunité contre le SRAS-CoV-2.
