Application Tip #51
Can I receive extra funding for a language course before my program starts?

Not if the class is part of your study abroad program. However, if you are planning to independently take a language course in Germany, DAAD has a limited amount of funding for language classes. This funding is available for students who will be in Germany for the academic year. Please state in your proposal that you would like to take a language class. Be aware that you may have to arrive in Germany in late August to participate.

Fun Fact
Did you know that...

...even though the German soccer team was eliminated early in this year's tournament, it is one of the most successful teams? Tied with Italy at four wins since the inception of the World Cup, Germany's team has only been outperformed by Brazil who has claimed five World Cup victories to date.
