Call for Project Proposals
RISE Worldwide

Research groups, labs and doctoral students can apply to host a motivated and well-qualified student from Germany. The German intern will assist in research and lab work for the proposed project. The students have academic training in the STEM fields and receive a DAAD scholarship to help cover expenses and travel costs.  Submit by October 15th, 2018.

Conference Funding

Faculty members and advanced students in the humanities, social sciences and related fields are invited to apply for co-funding to organize workshops, seminars and conferences that embrace the interdisciplinary and/or comparative study of the history, politics, economics, law, society, culture and the arts of Germany. Apply by October 31st, 2018.

The Year of German-American Friendship 2018/19 ("Deutschlandjahr USA") is an initiative funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, implemented by the Goethe-Institut, and supported by the Federation of German Industries (BDI) with the goal of strengthening the transatlantic relationship. The campaign was kicked off on October 3rd, German Unity Day, at the German Embassy in Washington, DC.

Unless stated otherwise in the Call for Applications, you can submit your application either in German or English. Please note that application documents that are not in German or English must be translated either into German or English.

...that the official celebrations for German Reunification Day (Tag der Deutschen Einheit) take place in a different city each year, spanning several days and showcasing the local region's culture? This year's Bürgerfest took place in Berlin under the slogan, "nur mit euch" (only with you)!
