DACC Students and Families,

Today was a great start to the 2021-2022 school year with our first-year students! We shared a lot of great information about the upcoming school year and we learned more about what our students want to get out of their education and experiences at DACC. The more we get to know our students, the more we are able to personalize what they learn and how they learn it.

DACC Superintendent, Jay Poroda, was also able to experience his first day of the 2021-2022 school year right alongside our students.
We're looking forward to welcoming back both our new and returning students tomorrow (Wednesday).

Below are a few announcements we would like you to be aware of.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us at 740-548-0708.
Student Drivers and Parking
This year marks the largest class size DACC has ever seen. Based on traffic patterns from this morning, we are making a modification to the parking map.

Drop Off & Pick Up
  • Student drop-off and pick-up will now be in parking lot “E” which is on the East side of the building.
  • All drop-off and pick-up traffic should enter/exit our campus via the back entrance/exit off of Glen Parkway (across from Crownover Way, not Peachblow Rd.).
  • Students should exit vehicles only onto the sidewalks by the school.
  • Students will enter and exit through door “M."
  • Please refer to the diagram and follow the path designated for traffic flow.

Student Drivers
  • Drivers should exercise caution during these times and drive slowly (10 mph maximum) on campus.
  • All student drivers should obtain a parking permit, which can be accessed here.

Arriving Early
Students are required to report directly to the commons prior to 7:45 a.m.

Arriving Late
  • If students are arriving late to school, the drop-off point will be at the flag pole by door “A” so that students can enter directly into the high school main office and check in with our attendance office.
  • A student is considered late if arriving after 7:50 a.m. in the morning or after 11:25 a.m. in the afternoon.

Road Closures
We have been made aware of some road closures. Please take a moment to review these roads that will be closed so you can plan ahead.
School Pictures - August 20th
All students are required to have school pictures taken but are not required to purchase a picture package. This is because we require our students to have an ID badge and display it while on campus.

This is part of our safety procedures as it helps us to quickly identify our students and that they belong in our building. Our date for school pictures will be August 20. HR Imaging has sent ordering information through the mail. If you did not receive any information from HR Imaging in the mail, you can pick up information at the main office.
