Academic End-of-Course (EOC) Testing Information
  • This testing encompasses end-of-course retakes with the exception to Government; therefore, not all of our full day academic students are affected.
  • This testing only applies for students taking Government for the first semester. Students taking a full year of Government will test in May.
  • All testing will occur at 8:05 AM; therefore, some full day students will be missing lab in order to fulfill this Ohio Department of Education Pathway to a diploma.
  • Those students affected will be made aware of their testing well in advance by their DACC School Counselor. If you have questions, please reach out to your designated school counselor.
  • DACC has been providing EOC remediation for retakes since September to prepare students for success.

Sophomore Visit Days What You Need to Know
Each year the Delaware Area Career Center has the exciting opportunity to host visits from area 10th grade students. This year, visits are scheduled for:
  • Friday, November 22nd
  • Monday, November 25th
  • Tuesday, November 26th
All staff will be involved in the organizing, presenting, and making of engaging learning experiences for the visiting students. Your child will be doing one of three activities on these days:
  • Attend school as a helper (only if asked by their instructor)
  • Job shadow a professional in their chosen field of study
  • Complete an alternative learning assignment
For more information about Sophomore Visit Day or to download a Job Shadow Experience Form, please visit our web site.
State-Funded ACT Testing
State law requires districts to administer the state-funded ACT to all juniors in the spring of the school year. Delaware Area Career Center will be testing all full day juniors on February 25, 2020 free of charge.  The state administration of the ACT will include the primary subject areas in reading, English, mathematics and science. The state testing of the ACT will not include the optional writing test.  DACC will be providing test preparation sessions to all full day juniors in January and February.

Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs)
Every DACC student is unique - they each come to us with their own history, knowledge, challenges, advantages, and goals. There is no one single college and career path that will fit everyone, which is why our DACC staff work with each of our students on Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs).

PLPs guide our students through a series of activities and lessons that help them learn more about themselves, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and research opportunities to grow as a professional and as an individual.

Throughout this process, our students work with their teachers and non-instructional staff to set goals, obtain resources, evaluate their progress, and continuously set new goals.

The end goal for our students is more confidence and clarity in the college and/or career path they have chosen for themselves, along with a digital portfolio that they can take with them after graduation. As employers and college admissions offices ask for proof of employability or eligibility, our students will have organized data that they have compiled, which will include:
  • Community service hours
  • Internships
  • Paid employment
  • Attendance
  • Grades and GPA
  • Portfolio of work
  • Resume
  • References
As students everywhere look for ways to differentiate themselves, DACC students have more than ever with a comprehensive Personalized Learning Plan and a digital portfolio that demonstrates mastery of their skills.

Ask your student throughout the school year what they are doing with their PLP.
Upcoming Event - Careers in Music
