Demo Deb La Fogg "Works in Progress: Animal Portraits
Deborah LaFogg Docherty’s art combines great two loves: her love of nature and her
love of painting. She strives to give people a glimpse of how animals live in the wild,
raise their young, court and survive. She paints a picture of a secret world that many
never get a chance to see. Her paintings have won National and International awards.

Prospective new members:
Artwork should be presented to the Jurying Committee between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m.
(prior to the General Meeting which starts at 6:45 p.m.)

Per our By-Laws:

Article VII – Election of Officers
Section 1.  Any Exhibiting, Family, Friend or Honorary member may run for office or be eligible to serve as a Director. Terms of Officers shall be for two years. At the end of each two year term a nominating committee of three members shall be appointed by the Board of Directors from members at large in January. The nominating committee shall accept and make nominations for officers. The slate of officers shall be available for inspection at the February meeting. The members and the nominating committee may make additions or modifications to the slate no later than March 1st, preceding the election.
Section 2.  The nominating committee shall present the final slate of Officers at the March meeting; those candidates being President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The person with the highest number of votes shall be deemed elected by the members present at the meeting. If there is a tie for any office, a run-off election shall be held immediately.
Section 3.  New officers will be installed in April.

We are in need of funds to advertise the Outdoor Shows. A motion to charge a fee of $50 per season to members entered in the Outdoor shows was voted in at the last General meeting on January, 14, 2019. 

Outdoor show members may pay this $50 fee, for the 2018-2019 Season, by mailing a check made out to - Delray Art League

Prospective exhibitors must be juried in for the shows at Old School Square as there is a wait list and only fifteen openings.

With your application, send a picture of your booth with art in it. Six pictures of your art in jpeg format.  When you are accepted, you will receive an email with instructions to pay your insurance fee via PayPal.

Gay will be there at 2 pm on Friday for setup. Show opens on Sat. at 8:30 am and 10:00 am on Sunday. Artists can be added on Saturday afternoon for Sunday as the green market leaves on Saturday by three. All shows are facing Atlantic. No more Second Ave.

No Racks or City Racks will be allowed per OSS. White tents will only be allowed.

Fran Goodman’s 4-week Abstract Expressionism class in Boca Raton has now expanded to her teaching three days a week: Tuesdays Wednesdays and Saturdays. See attached flyer for more information. Gay Williamson teaches oil painting in her studio on Monday thru Thursday 9:30 to 1:30.

Anyone exhibiting at a Gallery, or doing a Show, or in an Exhibit, or having an Event or just received an Award, please email me your good news for inclusion in this monthly newsletter.

Please reply with a brief announcement written as you would like to see it in print . No more than one paragraph and NO pictures. However, you may provide a link to an http, website or Facebook if available. Include deadline dates, expiration dates, etc. Post will be announced once unless dates are included .

Submissions must be received prior to the 1st of each month.
