Wednesday, April 30, 11 a.m. EDT. | | Bank of America Private Bank - Market Minute | | The S&P 500, Nasdaq Composite and Dow Jones Industrial Average each gave back some of the prior week’s returns during last week’s holiday shortened week, shedding 1.5%, 2.6%, and 2.7% respectively last week. Diverging from its large-cap counterparts, the Russell 2000 Index gained 1.1% last week but remained 23% off its November high at Thursday’s close. Technology, Consumer Discretionary, and Communication Services lagged last week and rank as the three worst performing S&P 500 sectors year-to-date. International Equities continued to outperform the U.S. with the MSCI All Country World Index (ACWI) underperforming the MSCI ACWI ex-U.S. Index by over 3% last week. The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury fell 16 basis points (bps) last week to 4.32% at week-end after rising 50 bps the prior week. In U.S. economic news, retail sales rose 1.4% in March, in line with expectations and the strongest month-over-month reading since January 2023. While sales may have been boosted by consumers spending on certain products ahead of tariffs, February’s sales ex-autos were also revised upward from 0.3% to 0.7%. Industrial production fell 0.3% in March, driven in part by a warmer-than-average March, while manufacturing production rose for the fifth straight month. | | 2025 Affordable Housing Resources Now Available | | |
The funding round for both the Affordable Housing Program (AHP) and voluntary housing grant initiative will open June 26, 2025, with approximately $57.5 million and $17.0 million available, respectively.
Projects may request up to $1,500,000 per project – $150,000 per unit in funding – by submitting an application through AHP Online. Applications that are not awarded under AHP, and are located in Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, will be automatically enrolled in the voluntary housing grant initiative pool for consideration.
