With only seven more weeks left in the year, U.S. stocks gained last week led by the Nasdaq Composite’s 2.4% rise, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average finished with smaller gains of 1.3% and 0.7%, respectively. Last Thursday, Federal Reserve Chair Powell’s comments broke an eightsession winning streak for the S&P 500 by intimating it was too early to declare victory against price pressures, while leaving the door open for further rate increases. Additionally, a government auction of 30-year U.S. Treasury bonds was met with the weakest demand in two years, helping to push up bond yields. Oil prices fell for the third consecutive week to the lowest level since mid-July over global demand concerns.


As for economic data, the University of Michigan’s preliminary November consumer sentiment index showed weak sentiment and higher inflation expectations. Falling for a fourth consecutive month, sentiment came in lower-than-expected while declining the most among lower-income and younger consumers, whereas higher-income consumers’ sentiment increased.

Todd Flubacher Inducted into

 NAEPC Estate Planning Hall of Fame

This prestigious recognition, conferred as part of the Class of 2023, celebrates Todd’s outstanding lifetime achievements and dedicated service to the estate planning field.


Todd is also a recipient of the Accredited Estate Planner® (Distinguished) designation. In his legal practice, Todd represents trust companies, individuals, and law firms nationwide on aspects of Delaware trust law, including directed trusts, dynasty trusts, asset protection trusts, trust modifications, and tax planning.


The award ceremony took place at the 60th Annual NAEPC Advanced Estate Planning Strategies conference on November 14, 2023. Todd joins an elite group of seven other estate planning professionals in the Class of 2023.
