Do & Be Arts Academy of Excellence, DBAE – a free K- 8th-grade public charter school that gives students a space to discover, understand, and use their voice through arts-integrated academics and the performing arts.

DBAE‘s mission: is four-fold, 1) to empower students to use their creativity,

2) to think outside the box and make the change in the world they want to see,

3) to achieve academic excellence, and 4) to broaden their perspectives through the arts.

**Message from the Executive Director**

Dear DBAE Families and Supporters,

Happy January! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! As we welcome the start of 2025, I am thrilled to embark on this exciting journey toward our grand opening on August 11, 2025. This is a monumental year for DBAE, and together, we are laying the foundation for a school that will make history. Congratulations in advance for being a part of this transformative experience

As we move forward, please stay alert for important information regarding registration and document submissions. Our “DBAE Explore” program continues with the next session starting back on January 9, offering opportunities to engage in arts and academics.

We are actively working toward our goal of 100% enrollment by June 1, 2025, through our initiative, Operation 222, where we aim to enroll 222 students. We look forward to your participation in our events and your support in spreading the word about our school.

We are also excited to invite you to join us for school tours and beautification days as we prepare our building for the first time. There are many thrilling developments ahead, and I can’t wait for you to be a part of them.

Please take a moment to check out our year-in-review photos showcasing the wonderful moments we shared at our 2024 events. Enrolled families are encouraged to sign up for our PTA committee, DBAE Family Voice, starting in March 2025. We are always seeking volunteers to help establish our systems from the ground up. Thank you for your commitment and enthusiasm as we embark on this incredible journey together.

At Do & Be Arts Academy of Excellence, we believe that parents/guardians are a vital part of our community. That’s why we created DBAE Family Voice—a safe and welcoming space for parents/guardians to share their concerns, thoughts, and suggestions.

What is DBAE Family Voice?

It's important to note that our DBAE Family Voice committee functions similarly to a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Just like PTAs in other schools, our committee serves as the primary platform for parents/guardians to engage with the school community. We share the same duties and responsibilities as traditional parent associations, ensuring that every parent’s voice is heard and valued.

As founding parents/guardians, your insights and ideas are invaluable in shaping the future of our school. Whether you have a concern to address, a suggestion to improve our community, or just want to connect with other parents/guardians, DBAE Family Voice is here to listen and collaborate.

In many schools, parent committees focus on fostering communication between families and school staff, organizing events, and advocating for students' needs. Similarly, our DBAE Family Voice committee aims to strengthen the relationship between parents and the school, creating a vibrant and supportive environment for all.
