A Message from Colin, Dane Buy Local's Executive Director

I wanted to share with you that last Friday, I fell victim to a spammer on Facebook, and as a result, my personal account was lost. It's been a frustrating experience, and it feels like I've been cut off from the world.

I have decided to start fresh and create a new Facebook account. I would be thrilled if you could rejoin my page and continue our connection there. To do so, please send me a "friend request" on my new account, "Colin Murray".

🌈 Join DBL at McFarland Pride in the Picnic! 🌈

We're excited to announce that DBL will be participating in McFarland Pride's Picnic event on June 25 to highlight and celebrate our LGBTQ+ members.

We are looking for 3 things from you:

1. Volunteers needed! If you're interested in volunteering at the event, email lieneke@danebuylocal.com. These will be 2-hour shifts.

2. Does your LGBTQ+ business have items to hand out? If so, please provide at least 25 items to Lieneke by June 15th.

3. To ensure that we can showcase your business, be sure to update your member profiles with relevant LGBTQ+ categories asap.

When a local business is presented with a Dane Buy Local award, it’s a great time to celebrate the hard work of their business and staff members, and to recognize their impact on the Madison community. It’s no small feat to be nominated and to win an award, but once a business has, one question remains - how do you display it?

IH Concepts (the winner of the Outstanding Innovator award in 2021), wanted local businesses to be able to showcase their Dane Buy Local awards, so for the last couple months we have been creating digital badges for the winners to incorporate on their websites or other promotional material to promote the awards that they won.

IH Concepts understands the positive impact a Dane Buy Local award can have for Madison businesses, and has been proud to create digital award badges for all the winners since 2020.

This complimentary service helps businesses receive the hard-earned recognition that they deserve, and will continue to be provided moving forward.

SEAMSTRESS POSITION

Our Drapery Workroom is looking to add an experienced, full-time seamstress. Must have excellent math and communication skills. Knowledge of the home furnishings/interior design industry or previous workroom experience a plus. This job requires attention to detail and self-direction.
