Federal City Council & DC Chamber To Hold Press Conference

Join us and representative members of District of Columbia business, non-profit and civic organizations for a pressconfernece on Monday, May 15, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM at the DC Chamber of Commerce located at 506 9th Street NW. We will discuss with member companies and media, the business community's united support for fair and competitive taxes. The DC Chamber and Federal City Council will continue to urge the DC Council to follow through on its commitment to fully implement the Tax Reform that began in 2014.

Now is the time to provide the business community with a little bit of relief

The DC Chamber is very concerned that the promised reduction of the corporate tax rate from 9.0 percent to 8.25 percent is being compromised. As you know, the business community is facing a new tax of two hundred fifty million dollars ($250,000,000) to implement the Universal Paid Leave Act. There is now a quest by the DC Council to find additional funding for the paid leave infrastructure which can approach eighty million dollars ($80,000,000).

Now is the moment to at least provide the business community a reduced corporate tax rate and fulfil what was promised years ago by the District and its legislators.

Many of you have already agreed to be listed on the letter of support asking the Council to ensure that the final tax reductions previously voted on are implemented next year.

If you haven't done so already, please agree to have your company listed on the joint letter TODAY. Email governmentrelations@dcchamber.org to have your business listed on the joint letter to DC Council
