Out of abundance of caution for the health and safety of our attendees, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Washington D.C. Fly-In that was scheduled for September 14-16. With the rising cases of COVID-19 in our state and the recent requirements implemented by Washington D.C. Mayor Bowser to self-quarantine for those traveling from Oklahoma to D.C., we believe that this is the best decision.

Silver lining - we are working on a "Fly-Back" hybrid event to be held in Oklahoma later this Fall and will be inviting all our Congressional Delegation to participate. Stay tuned for more details. Please contact Lindsey Sparks with any questions or concerns.
In August, we are excited to bring you two new webinars covering the latest news on the global pandemic.

Next week, we will be hosting policy experts from the U.S. Chamber to learn about the Phase IV COVID legislation Congress is set to consider soon. The legislation is expected to be the last financial support the federal government will offer before the November 2020 general election. And later in the month, we are hosting the Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® to discuss real estate trends in the commercial and residential markets since COVID-19 hit Oklahoma.

Ruling on Gaming Compacts

Earlier this week a federal judge ruled on the lawsuit between Gov. Kevin Stitt and several tribes and the automatic renewal of the state's gaming compacts. Tribes have argued the state's gaming compacts automatically renewed when certain action was taken in the fall of 2019 to license racetracks in Oklahoma. The judge agreed with the tribes interpretation stating that gaming compacts were automatically renewed for a second 15-year term on Jan. 1, 2020.

Both parties have until Aug. 7 to detail any further issues in the case, but it is unknown at this time if the state will file an appeal. To review the judge's full ruling, click here .
The State Chamber is excited to sponsor Oklahoma's Congressional District 5 Primary Runoff Debate featuring Republican candidates Stephanie Bice and Terry Neese. The debate is hosted by NonDoc and will be live streamed by media partners News 9. McSpadden, Milner & Robinson are also NonDoc 2020 Debate Series Sponsors.
