DCAN INITIATIVES
THE COLLEGE FIT PROJECT
Sign Up Your School by December 3rd!
The College “Fit” Project is a pilot campaign to engage learning how to determine the best "fit" schools. The Detroit College Match tool focuses on the academic alignment for match, reach and safety in conjunction with African American graduation rates, it does not however take into account the social-emotional disparagement that students endure embarking on their post graduation journeys.

The campaign will not only educate and elevate important factors that affect enrollment but will also develop critical thinking and knowledge application needed for college research. Students will use detroitcollegematch.com and a word bank to support determining a college list.

This project is designed for both middle and high school students. Register your school today to compete for up to $800 in prizes!

PARTNER HIGHLIGHTS
THANKFUL FOR PELL
Share Why You Are Thankful for Pell
This week we are #ThankfulForPell. Neko's story is a lot like the stories of the students we serve everyday.

The National College Attainment Network's 2021 #Thankful4Pell advocacy campaign celebrates the Pell Grant program. DCAN fully supports this mission and encourages all of you to send a message via social media or directly to our federal Congress people to double the Pell Grant!

The main goal of the campaign is to encourage people to use the form to contact their members of Congress about the importance of investing in students through the Pell Grant program. Join us in sharing this message!
YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL
Encourage Your Students to Apply!
The Strategic Community Partners Youth Advisory Council (SCP YAC) will bring together a carefully selected group of 16-18 youth and young adults from across Michigan’s Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.

The goal of the council will be to provide youth voice, feedback, and insight on future programs created by SCP and its partners with and for the community. This opportunity is paid! If you have students in mind, encourage them to apply by November 19th to be considered!
