SUMMER SUPPORT COACHES
We are seeking college access professionals who have experience working directly with students and supporting them through the college transition process to aid in increasing postsecondary enrollment and matriculation.

Important Info
  • Support the class of 2022 with completing steps to enrollment and/or starting postsecondary planning.
  • Selected applicants will receive a $5,000 stipend over the duration of the summer
  • Application Deadline: Monday, March 14, 2022

SUMMER MELT: STUDENT SUPPORT
Share With Your Students!
In an effort to combat summer melt and promote postsecondary pathways after high school, Detroit College Access Network and Detroit Drives Degrees are partnering again this year to present Summer STEP: Student Transition and Engagement Planning. Summer STEP is free 1-on-1 advising services for students in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties over the summer.

Students will be able to receive support through virtual meetings, text, and email. Encourage your students to sign up for support now for an easy handoff to our summer coaches when summer arrives. Contact support@detroitcan.org for questions and concerns.
DETROIT SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM
The Application is Open and Closes April 1
The Detroit Summer Scholars Summer Bridge Program provides an opportunity for a select group of Detroit high school seniors from the class of 2022 to get a jumpstart on their college career and ensure that all necessary steps are completed for successful enrollment.

The Summer Bridge application opens March 1, 2022 and the deadline to apply is April 1, 2022. There are no GPA, test score, or letter of recommendation requirements. This program comes at absolutely no cost to students.
PARTNER INITIATIVES
MCAN FAFSA COMPLETION GRANTS
FAFSA Completion Grants will fund programming to increase FAFSA completion rates for the class of 2022 across the state through grants of up to $5,000. Eligible applicants include high schools, career tech centers, community-based organizations, and higher education institutions. These grants are not intended to be renewable or to offer long-term funding for a program.
MATH 4 SUCCESS:
2022 SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP
Math 4 Success is proud to offer its first scholarship to graduating high school seniors. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale and plan to attend a college or university in the fall of 2022.

Please spread the word to all graduating high school seniors for a chance to win $500 scholarship. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2022.
