Geospatial Information Science (GIS) & Tech
Geospatial Information Science and Technology majors learn how to connect data to a map. GIS analysts collect, measure, and interpret geographic information in order to create and update maps and charts. The average salary for a GIS analyst is $85,000/year.

Social Work
Social Work requires a passion for helping people and a commitment to social justice. Graduates help people and communities tackle problems rooted in poverty, racism, ageism, violence, or illness. Social workers make an average of $51,000/year.

Data Analytics Certificate
Data analysts prepare, process, and analyze data to help inform business decisions. They create visualizations to share their findings with stakeholders and provide recommendations driven by data. This is a self-paced program at a low cost to students. The average salary is $68,000/year.

Program Management Certificate
Project managers are responsible for planning, organizing and running projects so they can be delivered on time and on budget. The average salary for this profession is $59,000/year.

2022 Write to Educate Essay Contest
The contest awards $10,000 in college scholarships and donates $2,000 to charities in the names of the winners. Winners will be selected based on their one-page essay that examines their experiences during the coronavirus pandemic. Students must be from Michigan.

AABE Scholarships
Open to graduating high school seniors who intends to enroll next semester pursuing a major in business, one of the physical sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics field. Must be African American, Hispanic, or Native American.
|
|
DeuceMan Strong Scholarship
Open to a graduating high school student from the Detroit Metropolitan area, who have been accepted into an accredited college, university, and have intentions to major in art.
|

DETROIT PROMISE: REGISTER TODAY

You could be eligible for the Detroit Promise. This scholarship helps ensure that Detroit students have a tuition-free path to an associate degree, bachelor’s degree or technical certificate at participating academic institutions.

SMASH is looking for 9th graders interested in a free STEM program this summer! Students get to spend a few weeks learning more about computer science and other STEM subjects.
SMASH is looking for 9th graders who meet the following criteria:
High-achieving (minimum 3.0 GPA, with an interest in math and science)
Low-income (preferably eligible for Free/Reduced Lunch). Deadline is 3/1/22.

The College “Fit” Project is a one-page college research worksheet that will help you determine the best colleges based on your needs culturally, socially, and academically. This simple tool helps you select what's important to you, ensure that your schools have these things but also provides a list of schools that best "fit" your chances of being accepted and graduating!

HOMELESS AND FOSTER
YOUTH TAX CREDIT
|
|
Qualifying youth experiencing homelessness and youth from foster care who are at least 18 years old are eligible for a $1,502 tax refund through the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), even if they are full-time students. This is a departure from previous tax years, and of special importance to vulnerable youth who are still in high school or pursuing higher education.
This is currently a credit that is only being offered this year. Please ensure you are aware and know how to receive the refund on your taxes before you apply this year.
