GEARING UP FOR GRADUATION
Supporting our Seniors
It's our final push before graduation season! Make sure you are sharing these senior events with your students before they take off for the summer and into their future!

Senior Admitted Days

Seniors who have been admitted into the following colleges still have time to attend their "Next Steps" event. Each school will walk students through the enrollment process.

Skilled Trade Enrollment Day

This event is for high school seniors who have applied to partnered trade programs to get support on next steps in the enrollment process. We will highlight and provide the application for trade programs from our identified partner. 
Virtual 1-on -1 and Group Advising 

Offered to grades 9-12 as well as current college students. Students can request 1-on-1 support or drop in for group advising sessions. Drop into one of the group attendance sessions:

  • Mondays 4:45-5:45PM
  • Wednesdays 12PM -1PM
  • Thursdays 4:45PM-5:45PM
  • Fridays 4:30PM-5:30PM

College Readiness Workshops

  • Detroit Promise hosts a Facebook Live event every Monday at 3:30pm
  • You can request a workshop for students
MAY VIRTUAL LUNCH & LEARN
RVSP Today!
Join us for our last Lunch & Learn of the 2021 school year! The May Virtual Lunch & Learn will cover the following topics:

  • Summer Melt
  • Underclassmen College Readiness
  • Detroit Promise
  • Community Resources

This opportunity has been submitted for SCECH credits. The event will take place May 20th from 10-1:30 PM.

Free Money for Completing the FAFSA
In an effort to increase FAFSA completion rates, students who complete their FAFSA are eligible for financial compensation.

MCAN has 5,000 gift cards ready to distribute to students as they complete their FAFSA. These will be mailed directly to students based on when their FAFSA is submitted.

These will be mailed directly to students based on when their FAFSA is submitted - the student doesn't need to do anything but complete their FAFSA and if they are one of the first 5,000 they will receive a mailing! Gift cards are available until they have been exhausted (even beyond May 1).
