DCAN STRATEGY INSTITUTE
Join us virtually NEXT WEEK, Aug. 11-13
The DCAN Strategy Institute will support schools and organizations with workshops focused on developing a college-going culture, student support/resources, and college access and success.

  • When: August 11-13
  • Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST (each day)
  • Where: Virtual conference (must register by Monday, Aug. 10)
  • Cost: FREE!
  • SCECHs: Earn up to 11 credits
  • Over 30 workshops to choose from!
  • College Application Month
  • Senior data tracker
  • College Board SAT/Khan Academy

Each school or organization must register three or more representatives. There will be strategy time daily just for teams with an electronic strategy workbook to develop plans for the upcoming academic year.

Teams will also have the opportunity to win up to $1,000 for program ideas each day!

Along with daily opportunities to win raffles for attendance, engage with other professionals throughout the city in forums and video chats, teams will build individual strategies and systems for the year.

Reminder: At least three representatives are required to attend for participation! Teams will be notified once the minimum has been reached and registration is complete.

August 13, 3 p.m.
Are your students unsure about what they should be doing before fall classes start? In this workshop, we'll explore their college student profiles and the list of administrative tasks for them to accomplish such as setting up their student email account, financial aid, class builder and more.

Utilizing Resources: Financial & Support Tools
August 20, 3 p.m.
Do your students need more support for their first semester of college? Have them join us to learn more about all of the resources on their campus. This workshop will cover financial aid, the student learning center, tutoring, office hours, advising, study skills and more.

Virtual SAT prep coming this fall

Help your students choose from a one-day SAT bootcamp with Doorway to College or a three-week SAT course with Math 4 Success

  • SAT Bootcamp: Saturday, Sept. 19, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • SAT Course: Sept. 1-17, every Tuesday through Thursday, 5 to 7 p.m.
