Dear Colleagues:
We're happy to announce that our Executive Director Ashley Johnson will be on maternity leave into July - congratulations, Ashley!
During that time, I am honored to serve
DCAN as Acting Executive Director
. If I haven't had the opportunity to meet you, please let me introduce myself...
In my current capacity as DCAN Strategic Director, I have a deep passion to ensure that kids with backgrounds similar to my own are equipped to be successful in the endeavors that they face. I
earned my bachelors’ degrees from the University of Detroit Mercy in Political Science/Legal Administration and Business Administration, and received a master’s degree in Educational Psychology with a focus on student development at Wayne State University. Prior to my work at DCAN, I worked in higher education financial aid and served as an education consultant/program developer for schools and nonprofits. I was born, raised and educated in Detroit as a low-income, 1st generation student and believe I am doing heart work here in my community.
I'd also like you to understand
