DCAN Update | Oct. 6, 2020
FAFSA, APPLICATIONS AND COMPACTS, OH MY!
DCAN is here to support you.
October is an exciting time in the college access world!

That's why DCAN is working hard to make sure you have all the tools you need to help your students get those college and FAFSA apps in.

In this newsletter, you'll hear about DCAN's one-on-one FAFSA support for students, an exiting update from our partners at Detroit Drives Degrees and DCAN's free 5th Annual 2020 Metro Detroit College Access and Success Summit in November--and more.

Together, we can do this!

Happy fall,

The DCAN Team
MICHIGAN COLLEGE MONTH SHOUT OUT:
CORNERSTONE HIGH SCHOOL
Cornerstone is gearing up for their own College Application Week!
Last year, Cornerstone High School had 80 students submit 725 applications! So it's no surprise they're getting ready to kick off their own College Application Week to meet or exceed their submissions from 2019.

From Carlotta R. Prince, school counselor:

"We will be pushing into the Senior English Zoom Classroom daily to get students to apply. We are also hosting a raffle for three $25 Amazon gift cards to students who meet certain requirements during that week to get students to apply."

Check out Cornerstone's College Application Week graphic below.

Way to go, Cornerstone!
