From the Superintendent
When we first embarked on our strategic plan nearly three years ago, I was eager to see how it would progress. The plan focused on the concept of “person-centeredness,” an idea that places the people we serve at the center of every decision we make. One of the first results of our strategic planning was the development of a new mission and vision for our agency. Our new mission statement – to inspire, empower, and support people to achieve their full potential – is clearly person-centered. It has served as our roadmap throughout these past three years and will continue to drive the focus of our next strategic plan.

While we still have eight months remaining in our current strategic plan, we are beginning the ground work to launch the development of our 2020-2022 Strategic Plan. Over the past few months, we have organized six community conversations to develop a framework of priorities for our next plan. These conversations throughout Delaware County have been tremendously helpful and the information gathered has been invaluable. We are genuinely interested in our community’s feedback and are committed to growing our programs to better meet the needs of the people we serve.

In the near future, we will begin a more formalized process of developing our strategic plan. We will be soliciting input from the people and families we serve, providers, community partners, Delaware residents, Board Members and county board staff. Together, we will create a plan that is forward thinking and supports people to achieve their full potential.
I hope you will join our conversations and support the creation of our next strategic plan.
