Lifetime of Giving
It's time to save the date for DCBDD's Annual Lifetime of Giving! This event recognizes outstanding people in our community who have gone above and beyond to improve the lives of people with disabilities. If you are interested in joining us please RSVP by March 2, 2020. RSVP is required.

Save the Date - Annual Provider Meeting
DCBDD invites providers to our first Annual Provider Meeting! Join us for a morning of appreciation, local and state updates, and an overview of DCBDD's 2020-2022 Strategic Plan. Light refreshments will be provided.
Public Safety Day
DCBDD is partnering with Delaware City Police, YMCA, and Delaware City Fire Department to bring together the first Annual Public Safety Day. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of emergency personnel and community partners. Safety is important and we want to ensure people of all abilities have the resources to make safe and informed decisions. This event is for people of all ages. WestervilleHelps
“WestervilleHelps” is an expanded financial assistance program for residents-in-need. Available support includes reduced or waived fees for Parks & Recreation programming (registration fees, daily passes, classes and recreation facility passes), assistance with utility costs (up to $500 per year), matching funds for sidewalk repair costs, and matching funds for exterior home renovations to maintain code compliance. Financial assistance is available for households with income at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. For more information,  click here .

Ballie
During a presentation at CES 2020, Samsung announced a new robot companion named Ballie. Ballie rolls along the floor and helps you with your day-to-day tasks. While it’s clear that Samsung sees Ballie as the center of your smart home, it could also have certain safety applications. Samsung suggests that Ballie could call for help in the case of a medical emergency, such as when an elderly person takes a fall and can’t get up. So, Ballie could wind up having a variety of uses around the home, but first and foremost, it sounds like it’s intended to make managing the growing number of smart home devices easier.
