Happy Fall Ya’ll!
I hope everyone is starting to have a great year now that the PTA/PTSA’s can get back in to the schools to plan exciting programs for their students, families and staff. Just a reminder that all volunteers must of completed and passed a background screening with DCPS before volunteering in the school.
It’s exciting to get the Membership Reports each Monday and see how a lot of the PTA/PTSA’s memberships are increasing! Now is the time to come up with ways to reach out to your families and business partners to join your PTA/PTSAs.
There are several schools that are reaching out to us to get their PTAs back up and running this year and our Local Units VP Leisa Potter is getting the information out to these schools as to what they need to begin to do to make that happen. We are always looking for established PTA/PTSAs to mentor those new PTAs by sharing what you are doing in your schools that are making you successful. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please let Leisa Potter and myself know.
I would like to welcome Chartwells as a new GOLD Business Partner. Candace Nagel and Chartwells has been a great support to DCCPTA for the last couple of years. We are always looking for business partners so if you know of a business you would like for us to contact, please email me at president@dccpta.org
National PTA and Florida PTA have so many great articles and trainings on their webpage. When you get an opportunity, go to www.floridapta.org or www.nationalpta.org. and take a look at all these two webpages offer. You can also find the link to download the new Florida Bylaws Form on the Florida PTA webpage. I recently watched the training called 10 Minutes to PTA the Transformative Way that right now is on the National PTA webpage and it had a lot of great information for PTAs.
Florida PTA will be holding a Leadership Summit on Saturday, November 6th from 10:15 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. There are 3 sessions that will be offering workshops that include Presidents, Secretaries, Advocacy, Membership/MemberHub and many other interesting classes. You can register by going to www.floridapta.org/leadership-summit-attendees/. All PTA Leaders and Members May Join! This Leadership Summit is FREE!
I hope everyone has a HAPPY FALL!
