Door County Economic Development loan funds help launch of new Microbrewery in Egg Harbor

Loan funds target job and amenity creation

May 3, 2019, Egg Harbor, WI – In just a few weeks beer enthusiasts will be able to raise a pint and celebrate Door County’s newest craft brewery, One Barrel Brewing Company. The brewery, to be located at 4633 Market Street, across the street from Main Street Market, opens for business on Thursday, May 23.

Founded on the east side of Madison in 2012, the brewery has risen to the 13 th largest craft brewery in the state, producing 5,100 barrels of beer and cider last year. The company sells its products statewide.

“Our Door County tap room will offer approachable craft beers like our Commuter Kolsch and Penguin Pale Ale,” stated One Barrel’s owner Peter Gentry. “We will also highlight new brands like our Up North Wisconsin Lager and Gentry’s Ciders.”

In addition to the familiar and new brews, One Barrel Egg Harbor will feature Door County’s own Wild Tomato Pizza, cooked to order in their 700-degree wood fired oven.

Senior lending for the One Barrel Brewing Taproom project was provided by Summit Credit Union. The Door County Economic Development Corporation’s (DCEDC) revolving loan fund is a funding source for FFE and working capital. “We are thrilled that Peter and Jennifer have invested in Door County’s vibrant economic ecosystem,” stated DCEDC’s Executive Director Jim Schuessler. “Our loan funds are helping create jobs and adding a new amenity to Egg Harbor.”
