What is Happening at DCI?
PLEASE READ: SY25-26 HS and MS Cell Phone Collection Processes
Both High School and Middle School recently announced important updates to cell phone collection processes for the 2025-2026 school year. Click here for the HS cell phone process announcement and click here for the middle school cell phone process announcement. High School leaders will host the Virtual Student Town Hall on Thursday, August 21st, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. via Zoom (the Family Session is taking place this evening from 5-7 p.m.). Attendance is strongly encouraged in order to address concerns, explain procedures in more detail, and partner together for a successful launch. Please RSVP for either session here.
Get Ready for ACE!
ACE Club Registration for the Fall 2025 Trimester will open on Monday, September 8th at 12:00 p.m. Activities, Clubs and Extracurriculars (ACE) fall dates are Monday, September 15th - Friday, December 8th. For a full list of key dates and additional helpful information, please reference this message.
FARM Applications Due
Eligible families who qualify for free or reduced price school meals based on household income for the 2025-2026 school year must complete the FARM application. In addition to students receiving a nutritional and balanced lunch meal at no cost, families certified as FARM-eligible also receive access to the following benefits:
- Waiver of college test fees
- Waiver of college application fees
- Reduced price internet services

SUNBucks benefits for the following summer
- Reduced price athletic and after school programming
- Reduced price on select field trip fees

Submit the completed application. You can do so in person at DCI (1400 Main St NW) with our reception team or you can submit by email to reception@dcinternationalschool.org.
Immunizations and Health Forms Reminder
As we prepare for the 2025–26 school year, please ensure your student’s physicals, dental exams, and immunizations are up to date. District law requires a current Universal Health Certificate (expires one year after exam) and Oral Health Certificate (expires after six months), completed and signed by a parent and physician. Immunization records or a medical/religious exemption form are also required annually. Please submit all forms to jania.washington@dcinternationalschool.org as soon as possible. Looking to Carpool This Year? Check Out This Interest Form
To help with transportation to and from DCI, we are excited to share an interest form to help families connect! If you’re interested in joining or organizing a carpool, please complete our Carpool Interest Form. This will be a great way to save time, reduce traffic, and build community. SAVE THE DATE: Virtual Family Information Session and Cafe y Charla on Toddle!
Join us for a virtual family information session on Thursday, September 18th to learn about the Toddle platform! We’ll guide you step-by-step on how to stay connected with your child’s learning, track progress, and engage with teachers —be sure to bring your questions! We will also be hosting an in-person Café y Charla session on Tuesday, September 23rd. All families are welcome to join the Café y Charla—it’s for everyone, not just Spanish-speaking families.

What is Happening at DCI?
Calling all new-to-DCI students! New Student Orientations Set for Aug. 20th and 21st
Please mark your calendars to attend the 9th Grade new student orientation on Wednesday, August 20th from 8:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Students who are new to DCI this year will stay until 2:00 p.m. For 9th graders, breakfast will be provided at check-in and lunch is an optional “Grab and Go” for returning students. The middle school (Grades 6-8) new student orientation will take place on Thursday, August 21st from 8:20 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For middle schoolers, breakfast will be provided for all students and students can request a DCI want lunch here or opt to bring their own lunch. PLEASE NOTE: Both sessions are for students only and student schedules will not be available during orientation.
MS Athletics Tryouts
Middle School tryouts begin the week of August 25th. For more information about how to complete required athletic paperwork, to complete the 2025–2026 Fall Athletics Sign-Up Form and all Middle School tryouts dates, please reference this message.
Save the Date: Back to School Nights!
Get ready to share an evening with DCI at our Middle School (Tuesday, September 16th) and High School (Thursday, September 11th) Back to School Nights! These events promise to be invaluable opportunities for you to connect with our dedicated teachers and staff, gain insights into the expectations for the school year, and have any questions you may have answered. We believe that your active involvement in your child's education is crucial to their success, and Back to School Night is the perfect occasion for you to be a part of their educational journey. We look forward to welcoming you in September!
