Nonpublic Workshop: Supporting the Social and Emotional Needs of All Students

September 20, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Participants will leave feeling better equipped to promote students' overall well-being. Participants will learn specific strategies to help foster social and emotional wellness.


Paraeducator Workshop: The Paraprofessional's Role in Behavior Data Collection

September 21, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Participants will learn how to use the various types of data collection tools in order to collect data on behavior outcomes.


Networking for Teachers of Multilingual Learners

September 22, 2022 from 3:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

A networking opportunity "for teachers of ELs, by teachers of ELs." DCIU facilitates monthly meetings for teachers of English learners countywide to seek and share expertise and to engage in collegial discussion around current research, initiatives, and trends affecting the teaching and learning of English learners and immigrants.


Science Council

September 27, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

The annual Science Council series will focus on supporting county LEAs by aligning curriculum, instruction, and assessment with three-dimensional teaching and learning.


Paraeducator Workshop: Understanding the IEP: An Overview

September 27, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Participants will learn about the intention of an IEP and its basic components.


The PBIS Tier 1 County-Wide Series: The Role of the PBIS Coach

September 28, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. - 3:309 p.m.

The PBIS coach plays an important role of any effective PBIS team. This training will review the expectations for building level coaches as well as offer opportunities for coaches to collaborate across districts.


Safety-Care Initial Two-Day Training

September 29-30, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This two-day course provides a broad set of methods and techniques for reducing the likelihood of behavioral crisis and improving staff safety. Trainees who successfully pass the course will receive a Safety-Care training certificate.


Carnegie Mellon CS Academy

September 29-30, 2022 or October 26-27, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This 2-day intensive workshop will prepare secondary educators (grades 6-12) to teach Carnegie Mellon University's CS Academy, a novel, world-class, online, interactive computer science curriculum that is entirely free to districts.


PBIS Tier 2 Fidelity County-Wide Training Series: Team Tracking of Students Receiving Tier 2 Services

October 5, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

This training is provided for schools currently trained and implementing Tier. 2PBIS in their K-12 school setting. This date will focus on the management of students within the behavioral intervention system, tracking overall student population and individual student progress monitoring.


Paraeducator Workshop: Assistive Technology Tools to Support all Students

October 6, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

An overview and demo of various low-tech, mid-tech, and high-tech accessibility tools for students. Attendees will also learn about how to use these tools to support students in the classroom and curriculum. 


The DCIU Coach and Mentor Collaborative (CMC)

October 7, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Instructional coaching is a proven, job-embedded professional development strategy whereby a highly skilled educator works with other educators in a collegial and collaborative manner to strengthen instructional practice. This personalized, ongoing, classroom-based approach fosters teacher growth and provides consistent support as teachers work to improve their knowledge, skills, and techniques within a culture of collective responsibility for student achievement.


Gifted Support Teacher Network

October 7, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Connect to learn from peers, psychologists, PDE, and county liaisons regarding compliance and best practice in supporting gifted students throughout their education. 


Delaware County Esports Network

October 11, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

The Esports Network will convene stakeholders regularly to develop systems of support for county-wide Esports planning and events.


School Counselors PLC

October 11, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.

This forum for school counselors provides the opportunity to discuss common issues, ask questions, determine best practices, and share program ideas among peers.


SLP Networking

October 12, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The first of four SLP networking opportunities will focus on relevant topics for school-based SLPs. Participants will have opportunities for small and large group registration.


Paraeducator Workshop: Autism Spectrum Disorder: An Overview for Paraprofessionals

October 13, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Participants will learn about the characteristics of Autism and evidence-based strategies that support students in the educational setting. Opportunities to practice and receive feedback on implementation of strategies will be provided.
