DCIU Releases Health and Safety Plan

DCIU and DCTS have created a Health and Safety Plan to serve as our organization’s guidelines for all programs and services to reopen safely. Our guidelines are tailored to the unique needs of DCIU and DCTS and provides for flexibility if the Governor moves our county from green to yellow during the 2020–2021 year. DCIU and DCTS recognize if the Governor declares our county in the red phase, DCIU and DCTS will implement the Continuity of Education Plans that were developed in the spring of 2020.

An Update from the Office of the Executive Director

Resources for Parents of DCIU Students

DCIU staff have been working hard to ensure that our families have the most up to date information and feel assured that their child will be in a safe and healthy environment if they are returning to the classroom.

Several lines of communication have been created including newsletters and videos. Be sure to check out these resources so that you can direct our families to the information they need.

Print Shop Resources

As buildings reopen, the DCIU Print Shop is providing posters and signs to serve as reminders of best practices when it comes to the Health and Safety Plan. While many of us have been practicing these protocols for months now, it can be easy to forget in a new environment, such as the workplace. It has been so wonderful to see and connect with many of you as our buildings have begun reopening. As the school year begins, it is more important than ever that we continue to follow the guidelines in place to keep our workplace safe. I am so appreciative of your efforts to diligently follow the health and safety plan and I know that we will continue to work together to get through this. Government Updates

As the guidelines from federal, state, and local government continue to change on a frequent basis, we encourage you to stay up to date on restrictions and regulations by checking the COVID-19 Updates on the DCIU website. This page is updated when Governor Wolf or other officials make important statements or changes in regard to operating schools and the workplace.

Additionally, Delaware County Council has a webpage dedicated to COVID-19. This site provides local resources and information for Delaware County residents.
