DCM Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that Sandra Barela has been appointed Clinical Director for Mary's Path in Santa Ana, California in Orange County.
Mary’s Path is nationally accredited and fully licensed as a Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) facility for pregnant and parenting youth ages 12 to 21. The newly created position of Clinical Director offers an opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of some of the community’s most vulnerable members.
Sandra Barela most recently served as the Senior Clinical Supervisor for the Children's Institute in California and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Sandra has a master's degree in counseling from California State University, Fullerton and received her bachelor's degree in psychology from National University in San Diego.
"I'm thrilled to join the team at Mary's Path, and honored to be building this program to provide a second chance for young mothers," Sandra says. "Breaking generational cycles of trauma will result in better lives for mothers and their children and I am excited to be driving this impactful change. My passion for helping young mothers comes from my own experience as a teen mom. I clearly remember how difficult it was for me, and I want to be the helping hand for young women that I needed back in the day."
Jill Dominguez, Mary's Path Executive Director/President, is looking forward to bringing Sandra into this role at the organization. "On behalf of the board and myself, we are excited to have Sandra join our Mary's Path team," she says. "Sandra brings a wealth of experience to lead our newly-expanded mental health branch."
